So far, the criminal activity at the dock seemed to be decreasing. Not that the criminals were happy to give up their base of operation, but they'd realized something the mob had known twenty years ago. When the authorities backed off, the vigilantes could act more freely, didn't have to be as careful. He half wondered if they'd try and get the mayor to veto what he'd already signed, if they'd realize that police presence protected them more than hindered them. ...Especially if they got to the cops who patrolled the place.

James Gordon sighed as he approached his apartment building. There was still so much Gotham needed.

He stopped when he saw Dalia's car in the parking lot. How long had she been there? Had she tried to call him? He checked his cell. No calls. It wasn't like her to just show up... and wait in his car. If anything, she'd be sitting on the steps. After a moment, he approached the car and knocked on the window lightly.

Dalia jumped at the noise, hitting the closed window with her fist, instinctively. A second later, she looked over. Seeing James, she just stared at him through the window a moment, confused. ...what was he...where...She'd driven to his apartment building...

James jumped back slightly at the movement, eyes wide. Something was definitely wrong... but he wasn't going to make her come out of the car. Not until she wanted to.

Even so, his mind was already trying to figure out what could have happened.

Dalia stared a moment longer. She considered putting the car in drive and booking it, but didn't. There wasn't time to consider excuses. Instead, she got out of the car and tried a smile. "...hi."
