LJ just invalidated the bookmark I've been using for the past eight freaking years, sending me not to my profile but to a page full of ads and other bullshit.

Why are people still using this site? Can I convince the last few of you to go to tumblr or something?

I use Dreamwidth, it crossposts here. Tumblr doesn't support comments, variable privacy, etc. I use it to follow memes and look at pretty things.

Does Dreamwidth have any sort of community, though? I've actually got one and have just never used it.

And that's at least a salient point about tumblr. I dunno, I like that I can tag a post and have random people read it, even if it doesn't track comments well (at all). The only other sort of social media-type thing I can think of is Facebook, and that's a totally different monster. Not to mention one of the few people left on my friends list won't touch it, and another just left it.

DW doesn't have a furry community that I've noticed, but it does have a sense of community.

I had a FB account for about 8 months, 4 years ago. I will never go back.

I am on G+, but I don't use it much.

Yeah, I didn't use G+ much either. I think the problem with any new thing is building up a sizeable network of people. With tumblr, you don't necessarily have to do that. It's more like posting on a message board.
