Gackt was used to waking up beside Jon - the other vocalist came here often enough, certainly. He was used to waking up and leaving the man to his rest as he began his day, and hours later watching the man leave. Today, though... today, Jon was already awake, blue eyes seeking out Gackt's own in the darkness. It was early, far too early for him to be awake and in his sleepy state, Gackt actually wondered if Jon had even gone to sleep.
"Satoru," Jon mumbled, and Gackt tensed - had he told Jon his name last night? How...? He didn't have time to think about it, because in the next moment, the American had wrapped his arms firmly around Gackt's waist, holding him close, breaking one of the rules they had set down after their first night together. I don't cuddle, he had told the American dryly, at which Jon had just chuckled and agreed, it was better suited for lovers. But Jon kept coming back, and...
He felt a butterfly kiss land on his collarbone and blinked, still not quite awake, though if the sleep-fogged expression on Jon's face was any indication, neither was his counterpart. Weakly, he tried to move back, but Jon's arms tightened around him, holding him still.
"Just... for a minute." It was in English this time and the older vocalist was proud of himself for understanding, though the only sound he made was a resigned sigh. If Jon wasn't going to let go, then he could wait a minute before trying to get up again, he supposed, letting himself slowly relax into the warmth of the other man's embrace. Letting his eyes slide shut, Gackt took a breath, keeping himself firmly away from contemplating what this could mean. It was too early to contemplate it, and he wasn't going to complain, because it actually was nice and...
"Hey," Jon started to say, yanking Gackt out of that train of thought. Against the skin of the Japanese singer's collarbone, he continued. "I had this dream." His words were sleep-slurred, and the older man was seriously beginning to doubt that Jon was even awake, until he pulled back, eyes level with Gackt's. "If the world ended today, wouldja let me tell you something...?" His words were sincere, concerned, something that had clearly carried over from his dream, and strongly enough that it was bothering him now, in his half-awake state. Gackt couldn't help the tiny smile that crept onto his face then, though; like this, Jon was completely vulnerable, completely trusting. There was something about it that he liked, though upon realising it wasn't just because of the things they did at night, that smile dropped. Jon seemed completely oblivious, dead-set on saying whatever it was had bothered him into waking up.
Apparently his silence constituted a 'yes', because then Jon nodded, a sleepy smile spreading across his features.
"Good." Then he moved forward, resting his head against Gackt's chest, arms loosening for just a moment before he moved them more comfortably around the slim frame. No other words were exchanged, and Gackt gave up on trying to leave a few minutes later, glancing down at the top of Jon's head, sighing once again. This time, though, the sound was contented, comfortable. He didn't want to think of why, but a part of him already knew why he let Jon come here every other night, why he let the man stay at all instead of turning him around after they were done, sending him home to shower and sleep.
He didn't want to think about it too much right now, but part of him already knew what Jon was hinting at, in his half-conscious state. Part of him knew, and felt the same.
So he allowed the American to hold onto him, and eventually lapsed back into sleep himself, curling around Jon's form in his sleep to be closer, seeking out the warmth and touch. For now, this would be enough.
