those came out really great! i love the birds and the geometric pattern, how were the fabrics knit? machine? you guys learn sooo much more technical stuff than we do! heh
we used a 3-color moratronic knitting machine. it knits tubular fabric (about a yard in diameter), but there's a slit line inserted so it can easily be cut into flat fabric. all the designs are sent to it digitally through a mac. it's awesome.
but yeah, it's a smaller production sized machine. i love having a lab filled with tons of equipment that industry actually uses. next semester i get to take basically the same class, but in weaving. i can't wait to get on the huge jacquard loom.
wow, yeah, it's amazing what you can do with computers in textiles these days! the jacquard loom is insane! you're gonna love it. do you have to learn on the big old floor looms at all? or is it straight to the fancy stuff? i loved weaving when i took it, but i abandoned it pretty early because i knew i wasn't going into industry....not a lot of weaving in wedding dresses! hehehe this is all soooo fun! we really do have the best major!
