I just had the worst doctor experience EVER.  Tricare assigned me to a new doctor, since I'm not pregnant anymore.  Well, I had my first appointment today for the migranes/depression/lack of sleep/being sick. This doctor is off post, and is a civillian doctor.

jebus mary! that makes me want to go apeshit on the doctor and the area that you live in for being so backward and awful. arg!!

i'm too pissed to give you any advise on what to do besides getting a different doctor, but know that it is AWESOME that you are breastfeeding and that you're committed to it. that guy needs to go to some sensitivity training classes and also read up on breastfeeding. guh!!

aww, thx! I knew when I got pregnant with Shaina that breastfeeding was really an important thing for me to do. As I'm sure you can tell... I get sick A LOT. My mom never breastfed me, and I'm totally suffering the consequences. I had precancerous cells on my cervix, I have asthma, I'm anemic, I get sick all the time. I've had whooping cough, my tonsils removed, bronchitis more times than I can count. I can count the times that Shaina has been majorly sick... 3. She gets the sniffles here and there, but she has only been really sick a few times, and no asthma yet! Shaina never got sick as an infant, or in daycare.

Most doctors would be supportive of planning on breastfeeding that long, not the opposite... he must have his head so far up his ass...

I hope the doctor-transfer process is quick, have you tried asking around breastfeeding communities or checking tags to see if anyone else has a med suggestion?

I'm not sure where you're at, but I highly suggest going to the post's ICE webpage and leaving a message there about this experience. That'll get the commanders to get involved.
