Do you have a lease at your place now? Or is it month to month? You should document everytime you try to contact him..
I hope you guys get the house on base!

We were in a 6 month lease, but this month was the last month. We're supposed to give him 30 days notice, but I think we're just going to say well, we called you and left a message like we always do... I guess you didn't get it. Ya know, since he 'doesnt' get our calls ever. lol

You might be able to get a three bedroom. I know plenty of people out here that have two kids (same sex) and the oldest isn't five and they have three bedrooms. I say go for it! Your landlord sounds like a douche who won't make the repairs and it's not safe for y'all to be living there with kids.
I think it's hard for everyone starting out. I remember when we were first married, we lived on an air mattress for about two or three months because we didn't have the money to buy furniture. I know at Bragg we have something called the Airborne Closet and they lend you things like furniture, appliances, dishes, etc. until you can get some of your own. Check your post and see if they offer something like that!
If your flow is still that heavy by tomorrow, you should call the doctor just to make sure everything is okay!

I'm hoping we could get a 3 bedroom, but honestly, either way I don't really care as long as we get out of this hell hole. lol. I don't mind not having a couch and whatnot. I've been in way worse situations than this.

They do have a lending closet, but from what I've read/heard they only have appliances and household items...no furniture.

Luckily we have all that kitchen stuff already.

That sounds like the apartment we moved out of! Well, we didn't have mice but the roaches were horrible and trying to use spray was really scary. The first apartment we had in the complex had no hot water and we were there for maybe 3-4 months. Supposedly, the boiler system didn't work for that ONE apartment. Ugh. So, we transferred and the apartment we moved into looked so much better. THEN, our guest bathroom flooded every single day. I shit you not. Luckily, it wasn't sewer water! They supposedly couldn't touch it because the pipe line belonged to the City of Houston. Bah! That was finally fixed after a month or so then mold started growing on the ceiling in that same bathroom! It grew everywhere! It was horrible. There was no way in hell that I was letting my baby boy and myself live there ( ... )

$600??? That is insane!
Of course, it's not much better here in Wayne County, either. Craziness.

We live in a singlewide as well, though we own it. Or the bank does, but still. We've had one mouse in 11 years, and just a couple years ago got roaches. Not the small German ones, but the huge tree roaches from out in the yard. Ugh, ick! I've finally got them under control, but those things are nasty. I hate them so bad.

We're paycheck to paycheck, too. Often overlapping, ugh. This is the summer of my discontent, without a doubt. We haven't been this strapped and behind on bills in years. Tax time (relief, yes!) cannot come soon enough. Sad, but true.

On base housing sounds like the way to go, and I hope there's an opening, and that you get it. Def keep us posted!
