OH wow this is great! I love the way you turned the tables on Ginny. George, while being mostly as a hell raiser, he has his moments. As one who spoke with both Oliver and James about this very thing in 2007, I can tell you there is more to the Weasley twins than meets the eye. And the toast to Fred at the end was magical.

:D Thanks!

I actually started this with Ginny talking to Arthur, but it didn't really start to work until I realized Ginny needed George who to put her on the right track, not Arthur. Besides, I've always had a bit of a thing for George (more so than Fred, for some reason). :P

You got to talk to Oliver and James??? *is jealous*

Yes, I did meet them! In 2007, I went to Chicago with Belladonna_tb and we went to a meet and greet with them before a showing of OotP. During my talking time, I told them how much I liked the part where they comforted the little boy outside Umbridge's office. They said they always thought the twins had a serious side and it was nice to portray that.

I love George! And too funny that Molly did the smae thing to Arthur that Ginny was doing to Harry. Very original that Molly's brothers died before she and Arthur were married . . . I don't think I've seen that detail before. I loved George's description of Harry as the "least gitty bloke he's ever met." ;) Brilliant ending, too! Great job! :D

This was fun. You just have to love George in this. I can see Ginny baking and cooking up a storm when she's upset, it's what her Mom would do, so it would have "rubbed" off on her. I've always thought there was more to the twins than just pranks, they were really smart in their own way and I can see George sitting down to help his sister out and in the process help his mate Harry out too. I love the ending, it's perfect.

Hee! Thanks, Sue!

See, I thought Ginny would totally bake and cook to get her aggressions out, too. It seems perfectly natural to me, given what she sees of Molly when one (or more) of her brothers misbehaves. Something tells me Ginny saw her mun cook and bake to keep herself from strangling one of her kids a lot while she was growing up.

As to the twins... you know they had to be smart. Just look at their inventions. :)

I love George, too. ♥

I'm not sure of the "canonicity" (is that a word???) of Molly's brothers dying before she and Arthur got married, although I don't think I went against canon with that. I just really needed a reason for Molly to pull away from Arthur so Ginny could do the same sort of thing. :P

The last line is something I'd considered and then rejected because I couldn't get it to sound right. But then sherylyn suggested the exact same thing, and I knew I had to add it back in. :)

Ah, Jules! What fun. I should have been focused on WORKING but nope this pulled me right in. I love the sibling-banter and how George knows just the right thing to say--and that Ginny bakes (with force!) when she's upset and that she is stubborn as, well, a Weasley. The parting line was perfect. Just all in all perfect. Loved it. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Should I feel guilty that I distracted you???

You know how much I love to write banter, so of course there had to be banter, and since Harry was being shy (or, more likely, stubborn) and wouldn't show up, Ginny had to banter with someone. And luckily, George was passing by. :P

I've done that slamming dishes around the kitchen thing more than once. It;s kind of...satisfying, actually, until the bowl breaks and makes a huge mess on the floor. Not that I've ever, you know, done something like that before. *looks shifty*

Thanks so much for your comments, my dear. *glomps*

Thank you so much, aggiebell! This story is absolutely perfect for this prompt and for the fest! I loved Ginny here. I can so empathize with the throwing things around the kitchen. I have one of those chopper things and I love to pound that thing when I am really ticked at my hubby. I particularly liked that it was George passing on wisdom he had learned from Molly. I think the whole theme about needing time to recover from the loss of Fred but not TOO much time strikes me as very real-to-life and thoughtful. I can definitely see Harry as being afraid to approach her, especially since (knowing him) he likely blames himself to a certain point.

Thanks again for your thoughtfulness and for your beautiful story. I will treasure it.

Yay! I'm so glad you liked this--I was having a bit of angst, because I tried to write Lily and James reflecting in H/G, but nobody would come out to play except Ginny. I had almost 1000 words on my first attempt, and it just wasn't going anywhere, you know? And then I remembered that I'd been toying with writing something featuring George and Ginny, and it hit me!

I'm not sure if Harry was afraid, per se--I actually hadn't thought of that angle at all, to tell the truth, but I can see it now that you mention it. :) I'd thought he was maybe just being respectful of her request, and then not really knowing when it would've been appropriate to approach her, especially since in my mind, the way he was brought up makes him a little...unsure socially. I'm certain he blames himself for something though--he always does, the silly boy.

I can empathize with throwing things around the kitchen, too--and those chopper things are AWESOME for beating out aggression! :)
