The drain in my bathroom sink has been badly clogged for months now. Spotted a new kind of birdie at the feeders over the weekend: a pair of American Goldfinches in their winter plumage, seen here, were horking down the thistle seed in the bag I hung on the telephone wire. OK, so it turns out that the fatty liver and the elevated alkaline phosphatase (ALP) are no big deal. The fat incursions are minor: the doctor said that if you pull 100 people off the street, as many as a third would have the same amount of fat as I have.
