If Shurachi needed a new inunin partner, then why didn't he just train the cerberus pup that he has in his possession already rather than finding a new dog altogether?

This actually plays into the plot of the story. He does end up using the cerberus pup in the end, but for now he's got Sabishii. If you want to "read ahead" of what I have posted here, go to fanfiction.net and search for the story or kingofloosepages. I have more posted there.
