I got a call this morning in the middle of the Engineering Meeting from Brad Frerichs that Joe Chac had passed away this morning. He didn't have anymore information than that. He found out from a message from Elaine, his sister. I wish I had more information. Pretty weirded out from that information and having a difficult time focusing on ( Read more... )

Okay. I was wondering what it was too.

That is incredible, literally. I wish I had a chance to sit down with him and catch up about things. I am also surprised to learn he was diabetic.

I wasn't TOO surprised he had diabetes. He had put on some weight... I wish I had more time to catch up on things as well. The whole thing just came out of left field... Very weird day.

That would be type II, but that's much easier to control. It's very unusual for somebody to get caught out when they have type II anymore.

Maybe he didn't know about it? Never struck me as a regular visitor to the doctor's office. (I'm pretty bad about that myself...)

I still having heard back from Elaine as of yet. I really don't think that she'll have anything to me before. I know I've said probably a couple different things to a couple different people about what happened, but between having to make a bunch of calls of a type I hate making, and trying to deal with this myself, I think you'll all understand. What happened? Well sometime yesterday between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM Joe passed out into what sounds like a diabetic coma. Sometime this morning before 9:00 AM he passed away.

I'm still waiting for Elaine, Joe's sister, to get back with me with the information on exactly where and when the service will be held. She initially indicated that it would be Friday. As soon as I get the infomation I'll start up the phone calls to pass along more.

I think I speak for everyone by saying we appreciate the effort. I already have Friday off, but that's easy to adjust. Thanks for doing this.
