::pat pat:: it happens to us all. I was at walmartawhile ago and lost my drivers lic. and it took half a year for them to mail it to me. And at the time that was my only photo id and my first lic. at the time i was getting married and i put on all my cre/ card to ask for id. You will find it. I would just be worry about the SS card. thats basic your number and people can do lots of bad things with that if they are smart.

That is bad. I hope you find it! The social security number's really the worst. Oddly it may be a good thing that you have maxed out credit cards in that it'll make it harder for a potential thief to do much damage to your credit rating. I know you need your birth certificate to get your ss card replaced.

If you need help with anything, let me know and I'll see what I can do. It's not fun to loose these things, but it's not an impossible situation to get out of.

That totally sucks. It's good that you canceled your cards. You should also report your passport stolen, even though it was just the numeber.

Hang in there man hope everything turns out ok. It makes you feel really sucky though when you have to realize that like 90% if your "identity" is carried in a little leather pouch you carry around in your pockets.

yeah, i kinda wish I didn't keep everything there, now I know that , but since I had my passport card in my wallet when I left for Japan I just never took it out. Also i didn't know that my SS card wasn't suppossed to be on me all of the time. I just found out about it through reading the website for getting a new one...

thanks for the info!

Along with the credit card companies, you should tell your bank to change all your account numbers. You should also let them know that your SSN card was stolen so they can add you to a fraud watch and make sure no one tries to take out a loan as you.

thanks for the advice! I really can't believe how much it cripples you to lose a thing such as a wallet! I really wish I was more careful but what happened, happened and I just have to make sure nothing worse does!

A friend of mine misplaced her purse recently. She had a really hard time getting a new social security card, but I think that stemmed from her name being different than what was on her birth certificate as a result of marriage. Anyways, one of her friends works for a bank, and these were the recommendations he gave her ( ... )
