Re-reading Les Miserables is giving me a terrible urge to stage an insurrection. It's really too bad that the american people are too lazy to gather arms, barricade the streets, and say "no more, until there is justice".

I agree, but the problem is that with the republicans carrying on about the liberal media and blaming liberal democrats for everything, they'd probably just use it as justification for more armed forces, more millitary and more bombings. AND make it harder to get someone decent elected next time.

So, in theory, I agree with you. In practice... :-P

It'd probably end the same as in Les Miserables, only with more conservatives running on platforms to help keep people safe from dangerous revolutionaries.

*sigh*

I hate this country.

*nods*

oh, and I found an interesting passage, proving once and for all a certain revolutionary's hair color:

"The tall blonde," remarked Grantaire, "is Enjolras, who is sending you a warning."

Volume 4, Book 12, Chapter 2.

I *knew* we were right!

I'd join you, but there are far too few who would. *sighs* craigp might, and jodawi if we could get him riled up enough. Still, that's only four of us. Just how many would it take to accomplish a true rebellion? Just how insane is Bush? Would he push the button on his own nation?

The American military may be overtaxed and stretched thin, but pulled straightaway from Iraq to head into civil war or a military state, do you think they'd be kind?
