A few more Hogwarts fics

I've written a handful more bits of this story about St. George and Hilary Thorpe at Hogwarts; I'm not writing them in chronological order, but they do all make sense together and there's a murder mystery and everything, so I think it's past time I brought my progress over here ( Read more... )

Wow! I *loved* these, and I'm so glad you posted them here. I love the slow progress of Hilary and Jerry's relationship, how effortless the dialogue seems, the mystery, and the glimpses of Harriet and Peter. I have to admit I haven't read Nine Tailors (have read all the Sayers with Harriet in them, but stopped there), but now I'm going to have to go back and read them all. I love that you somehow married two of my favourite fictional universes of all time and made it make so much sense. It feels very indulgent to be reading about Hogwarts in the 30s--please do go on and keep posting these!

(Also, just have to give you credit for how you've developed Hilary as a character; obviously, having not read Nine Tailors, I had no clue what she was like going in, but I have a very strong sense of who she is now, and I love that she is distinct both from Harriet and from other HP universe characters. Being a Ravenclaw she could very easily have read like a version of Hermione Granger, but she isn't at all similar.)

Well gosh. I'm tremendously glad you loved them so much! And I totally recommend reading the ones without Harriet in them, and especially The Nine Tailors, because Hilary in canon is just the best thing.

I love writing about Hogwarts in the 30s, too, because it's a ridiculous lot of fun to cobble the cast together from canonical characters (or their ancestors) and Sayers characters and OCs. So I'm happy it all works for you and I fully intend to keep posting these :D
