Fandom - Cars, The Incredibles, General Pixar, Meet The Robinsons
Length - Oneshot (story within a story)
Characters/Pairing - There's too much going on to properly define this, tbh.
Rating - K+ (I used a few words I never really use and there are a few innuendo-laden lines, which is again, seriously unlike me, but it felt authentic to the character saying it and I went with it because...well, I've always felt Cars was more of a PG franchise as opposed to a G one.)
Summary - Lightning McQueen has been cast as the villain in the sequel to PixCar's hit movie, The Incredi-biles.
Author Notes - Oh gosh, this is going to be a long author note, followed by another author note at the end of the story. I hate to do this to you, but I'm awkward like that. If you want to just skip straight to the story first, click the cut ;)
This is a fill for a prompt made by
bellomee13 at...oh gosh...
disney_kink. If anyone who knows me well is wondering why I'm even over there in the first place, just ask and I'll be happy to explain, k? So, the prompt by
bellomee13 is as follows:
Inspired by the end of Cars with all those parodies of Pixar movies WITH CARS! and how everyone and their mother apparently wants an Incredibles sequel instead of a Cars sequel
Lightning has just been asked by Brad "Thunder" Bird, famed director of PixCar studios, to be the villain in his sequel to his hit movie The Incredi-biles.
Mr. Incredible is a huge-ass tank, Elastigirl is a stretch limo, Dash is a rocket car, Violet’s one of those radar invisible cars, Frozone is a zamboni, and Mirage is a sexy-ass Astor Martin. And Edna’s an absolute master of pimping your ride
Bonus points for Mator and car-versions of Pixar/Disney people
I can't guarantee I filled the prompt perfectly. For example, while I now totally want to do an entire Incredibles sequel in Carsverse, it wasn't realistic for me to be able to write the whole movie (at this point). I may in the future since this was sooooo much fun (I love both movies so freakin' much), but for now it's a vignette, aka we only get to see the conclusion of the film. Thus, there's a lot left to the imagination of what happened previously. Sorry about that.
Alright, now I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the main characters and how they translate from Incrediblesverse to Carsverse. There are a few other surprise characters/people that drop into the story, but I won't tell you those so you can be surprised. I will, however, have explanations of things at the end for the sake of those who may be unfamiliar with automobiles and/or the random fandom related jokes in here. K? :) Anyways, here's the ones I feel inclined to give you beforehand (of course, some of these descriptions include the basic Incredibles super powers you probably already know lol):
Mr. Incredible: Your basic
tank (although the one in that picture is specifically a German Tiger). Not just any tank, as a supercar, his power is super strength and a gun that almost never misses.
Elastigirl: A
red, mini-cooper stretch limousine with the ability to extend her cab longer or shorter (to a regular sized mini-cooper) as needed.
Violet: A
black Lamborghini (yes, I know Violet doesn't wear black anymore, but I felt like a Lamborghini captures her complex personality). Her power is that she not only has radar invisibility, but the power to become completely invisible. She also has a magnetic force field.
Dash: A
rocket car (the picture is just an example as they come in so many variations). His super power is that he has even more super speed capabilities in addition to his propulsion system.
Frozone: A
zamboni. Not only an ice smoother, he's able to spit out ice and freeze things.
Mirage: An
Aston Martin. She doesn't have any super powers, but she has one of the most advanced computer systems that allows her to have all the right information when needed.
Edna: An
Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. She is the ultimate go to for whenever a supercar needs to pimp their ride.
And, of course, there's Lightning McQueen as FLASH, a supercar turned villain able to emit waves of electrical currents from his electrically charged body.
Halfway through writing, I realized I forgot Jack Jack. So he's not in this. Finally, let's get to the story. I assure you everything is probably on crack and hard to follow, science and logic has been completely disregarded and my knowledge of car lingo is sketchy at best (despite being the 3rd generation of an auto mechanics/racing family). So please feel free to laugh all you want, roll your eyes, etc. I totally did xD
The Incredi-biles 2
There was silence throughout the GM’s Chinese drive-in theater, with the exception of a few hushed gasps here or fits of laughter where appropriate. The entire audience was spellbound as they watched the premiere of the latest PixCar’s film, the long awaited sequel to The Incredi-biles, on the screen in front of them. For the many cars parked in the theater lot, it was an even more exciting experience as they watched a familiar face, soon to be accompanied by another familiar face. Brad “Thunder” Bird, the director of the film had approached Lightning McQueen and asked him to be the villain in his sequel. It was quite an honor, and with the stipulation of giving his best friend a role too, he had taken the job happily. Lightning looked around a little, seeing most of the inhabitants of Radiator Springs - who had been invited to the fancy Hollywood premiere - enthralled as the climactic finish played out before them.
“I am the FLASH! You really think you can defeat me?” Lightning McQueen’s character gave an unimpressed cackle. “Faster than a bolt of lightning, your city will be struck down by my awesome power.” FLASH revved his engine and suddenly there was a storm of electric currents for a radius of half a mile. Screams could be heard as the bolts of electricity struck victims within range. The sound of cars crashing could also be heard as lamp posts exploded and power lines snapped, falling all around them and causing instant destruction.
“Give it up, FLASH. Nothing you do will stop me from bringing you to justice.” Mr. Incredible remained his ground a safe enough distance away from the electrical currents that he was unaffected. “Frozone, we need to find a way to destroy his power source. He can’t strike without the source of his electricity.”
“And how exactly are we supposed to do that?” The white and blue zamboni superhero looked at his best friend, his tone mixed with sarcasm and confusion. “His power source could be anywhere.”
“BOB, LOOK!!” Mr. Incredible looked at his wife, Elastigirl in shock. He followed the gaze of the stretch limousine to where FLASH held their daughter Violet prisoner. Being a radar invisible car, her invisibility shield and force field had been scrambled by the electrical currents and she’d quickly been detected by FLASH’s minion, the Under-Tow. The blue tow truck dragged her over to FLASH.
“Well what do we have here?” FLASH looked squarely in Mr. Incredible’s direction. “Still think there’s nothing I can do that will stop you? Hey, Mr. Incredible? Because from here it looks like I’ve got the advantage.”
“Bob, what do we do!?” Elastigirl asked frantically.
“I’m thinking!” He bellowed as the sound of FLASH laughing maniacally made him feel like blasting him with his gun. At last, the gigantic tank couldn’t take anymore. “Dash,” he looked at his son, a rocket car. “Hurry and find Mirage and bring her back here.”
“On it!” Dash hurried off before any of them had a chance to blink.
“Mirage has access to everything. She should be able to pinpoint the location of the power source,” Mr. Incredible explained to his wife and Frozone. “Once you figure out where it’s at, get there and destroy it.”
“What about you?” Elastigirl looked at her husband worriedly. She could tell by the gleam in his headlights that he had a dangerous plan for himself.
“I’m going to distract him for however long I can.” He said, trying to show no fear.
“Are you crazy? You can’t go in there!” Frozone shouted, trying to talk sense into the tank.
“Bob, you could be wrecked!” Elastigirl searched his eyes for some sort of indication of his changing his mind. Instead she found unwavering resolve.
“I have to, Helen. I’m the only one strong enough to stand the electricity. Hopefully I can stand it long enough for you to turn off the power source. If not…I love you. And I love the children. That’s why I have to do this. I have to try.” He looked back at where Violet was still held prisoner, close enough to FLASH that she at least wasn’t being affected by the charges all around them. It seemed like an inner bubble of protection. Like the calm eye of a hurricane. If he could just get in close enough, maybe he could temporarily stop FLASH from emitting any more electricity. Mr. Incredible looked back at his wife, fluid in her eye as she quickly brushed it away with her wipers.
“I love you too,” she kissed him fiercely, their fenders touching passionately. “Now go,” she whispered as she pulled away.
With that, Mr. Incredible spun his turret around so that he was facing FLASH. His gun was locked on his target and if it weren’t for Violet he would have already fired on the red menace. He heard FLASH begin to taunt him as he got closer, but he ignored it, rolling along with determination. “URGH!” He felt the first shock ripple through his steel plate. However, he pressed forward.
“Not enough for you?” FLASH mocked as he revved up his engine once more, sending even stronger jolts of electricity through the air around him. Mr. Incredible’s body rattled and he winced in pain, but he didn’t stop. “How about now!?” FLASH revved once more, this time knocking Mr. Incredible backward.
“STOP IT!” Violet screamed as she watched her father work hard to right himself and try again.
“Or you’ll do what? Do you want to join him? Hmm?” FLASH sneered at her. “Under-Tow,” he nodded a command for the tow truck to push her into the electrical storm he’d created, but before the task could be carried out, there was a bright flash of white that blinded the two fiends.
Violet’s front fender curved upward into a wide smile at the familiar sight. “Wilbur!” she exclaimed.
“Leave her alone, FLASH!” The flying DeLorean, Wilbur Robinson, shouted as he emerged from the light.
Meanwhile Mirage arrived on the scene. “Dash told me about FLASH. And it’s all over the news,” the sleek and sexy, silver Aston Martin informed Elastigirl and Frozone.
“He has to be garnering his electrical power from a strong enough power source somewhere. A nearby tower. Maybe two.”
“Can you pinpoint the location?” Elastigirl asked quickly.
“I’m running the coordinates through my GPS now,” and by GPS she meant highly advanced tracking system unlike the ones more inferior cars typically had installed. “Not a tower!” She gasped. “A whole station, about 10 miles from here.”
“But with that much power,” Frozone looked panicked as he put the pieces together, “He could destroy the whole city.”
“If my calculations are right, every rev of his engine will increase the radius of effect,” Mirage spoke with matter-of-fact concern. “We don’t have much time.”
“Bob!” Elastigirl looked at her husband and then braced herself for pain as she extended the stretch of her limo far enough to reach him. Grabbing hold of one of his tracks with her wheels, she retracted, grimacing through the pain until they were finally free from the radius.
“What…what did you do that for?” Mr. Incredible sputtered, his body still reeling from the heavy force of shock it had been under.
“There’s a power station 10 miles from here,” she explained as she opened her trunk to reveal a towing chain. With a little help from Mirage, she latched it onto her husband. She then took the tow hook and latched it to Dash. “You know what you have to do, sweetie,” she looked at her son with a confident smile and he nodded in understanding. “We’ll be right behind you.”
With that, Dash rocketed towards the coordinates that Mirage had quickly fed into his own tracking device, towing his father with him. Frozone followed as quickly behind as he could. “What about Violet?” Mirage pointed out once she and Elastigirl were the only two left.
“Wilbur’s the perfect distraction,” she looked at the young DeLorean Violet was in love with. She trusted him with her daughter’s life. “But should he need help…” Elastigirl hesitated for a moment.
“I’ll do whatever it takes,” Mirage smiled, proving her loyalty once again.
“Thank you,” Elastigirl said in genuine appreciation before hurrying after the others to help destroy the power station.
Mirage looked back at the scene a few blocks away. “What’s the matter?” Wilbur continued to tease wildly as he floated just above the currents, infuriating FLASH to no end. He dodged the Under-Tow’s hook here and there as the tow truck attempted to fish for the impish teen. “FLASH isn’t much of a match against an awesome car of the future like me, is he now?”
“Enough!” FLASH finally became tired of the games and refocused on the young female car beside him. “Say good bye to your girlfriend, Robinson.” With that, FLASH used his back tire to kick Violet into the waves of electric currents all around them.
“Noooooo!!!” Wilbur cried and without thinking twice, flew down after her, doing his best to push her until they were finally out in the clear.
Mirage hurried over to the two cars as they sat there. Wilbur sputtered a little, but other than that his futuristic technology seemed to spare him from too much damage. However, Violet’s weaker body looked nothing short of dilapidated. And as her engine hummed loudly, it was clear she needed to see a doctor and fast.
“At last!” FLASH exclaimed his seemingly inevitable triumph. “This city will rue the day it ever ostracized me! Rue!” Suddenly, his engines revved louder and louder and the wave of electric currents spread like a wild wave crashing towards the shore.
There were screams of horror, alarms sounding, crashes and explosions as the wires shorted throughout buildings, creating fires. As his power grew, there was no escape. “Agh,” Mirage felt the pain surge through her. These currents were so unnaturally strong they managed to carve into her otherwise gorgeous body.
“Wilbur?” The electricity jolted Violet awake and she looked at the DeLorean beside her. “You shouldn’t have come back.”
“I…I couldn’t stay away,” his voice was laced with obvious pain. “I think…I think…I love you, Violet.”
With the last bit of strength she had left, Violet smiled and whispered, “I love you too, Wilbur” before her battery completely died.
“Vengeance is finally mine!!” FLASH declared with a maniacal laugh.
“Vengeance?” Under-Tow repeated. “I thought this was about justice.”
“What?” FLASH looked at his minion like the tow truck was a confused idiot. “This is about justice. Justice for me!”
“It’s no wonder they didn’t want you. These are innocent cars you’re destroying. Those are just kids out there!” Under-Tow shouted.
“You don’t understand,” FLASH started to argue back, but was suddenly grappled by Under-Tow’s hook. “What? What are you doing? No! You stupid tow truck. Let go of me! I said let go of me!”
“If you insist,” Under-Tow threw him into the electrical current. FLASH’s already charged body only added to the electrical currents around him, quickening the process of deterioration until his various parts could sustain no more.
Suddenly there was a slow rumble that spread through the city, shaking the ground until at last, the waves of electricity broke and the cars were made free from its damaging effects. “What just happened?” Frozone was the first to speak as he, Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl and Dash returned from their task.
Mr. Incredible looked over to where a lifeless FLASH was parked. “Under-Tow,” Mirage managed, trying hard to find some strength left in her battery. “The currents were still too strong for him even without the power source. When he wrecked, he must have destroyed the last bit of power left.”
“Bob! Violet's battery!” Elastigirl brought the conversation to a quick end with a terrified shriek. “We need a doctor. We need a doctor!”
“I’m a doctor,” they all turned to see Under-Tow, a confident smile on his face.
A FEW DAYS LATER
“Work it. Work it. Yes, you look beautiful, darling,” a black, Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione rolled her eyes as many models of cars drove back and forth down a long strip of asphalt. Edna Mode was used to pimping out the rides of supercars, not primping the egos of show cars. Sure, she still moonlighted as a supercar designer, but she would give anything for one of those heroes to need her now. Any task, no matter how remedial, would be better than her task at the moment.
“Edna,” a sudden and familiar voice startled the diva and she turned around, astonished by what she saw. There in front of her were several damaged supercars, most whom she knew, in need of her expertise.
She fixed her gaze on the one she knew best, Mr. Incredible. “My god, Robert. What have you been up to this time?” The camera zoomed in on Edna's upturned smile before the screen went black.
There was loud cheering as the familiar The Incredi-biles theme played and the credits began to roll. Following that, there seemed to be instantaneous chattering as excited cars raved over the film. Lightning smiled proudly as he listened to the many broken conversations. He could clearly hear executive producer John Navistar declaring triumphantly to Brad, “This is our best sequel yet! If this doesn’t prove 2D animation is dead, nothing will.”
“Hey lookit! That’s my name up there,” Mater cheered and Lightning looked at his best friend with an amused chuckle. “This reminds me of the time I…”
“Not now, Mater. You can tell me about it later,” Lightning admonished as gently as he could.
“Well, shoot, you should remember. You was there too,” Mater pointed out as if it was the most well known fact ever.
“I’d like to hear about it,” the Aston Martin who had played Mirage said as she drove up beside him. “Wanna join me at the after party?”
Both Mater and Lightning’s eyes widened at her come on. “Well…does a chassis rattle when you hook it with a towing cable?” Mater attempted answer suavely, as Lightning snickered.
“I don’t know,” she gave him a coy smile. “You tell me.” She turned around and drove off, silently inviting him to follow if he was interested.
“Well, I’ll be…” Mater watched her dumbfounded and then whispered with a sly tone to Lightning, “Don’t wait up.” He winked and then hurried after her shouting, “Hey, wait for me” loudly, leaving an even more dumbfounded Lightning McQueen behind him.
“WE LOVE YOU LIGHTNING MCQUEEN!!” A round of female screams from the back of the drive in tore Lightning’s gaze away from where Mater had been. He acknowledged them with a smile, sending them into a fit of squeals.
“You just had to go and become an actor didn’t you, hotshot?” Lightning smiled as he turned and saw Sally. “Being a legendary racecar wasn’t good enough for you?”
“Just livin’ the dream, baby,” he gave her a playfully cocky smile.
“Well, you know, if I hear of any costars asking you to an after party, I’ll…”
He cut her off, “…go into a jealous fit of rage?” He asked teasingly.
“Ha, you wish. More like kick you to the curb in less time it takes me to go from 0 to 60,” Sally finished and they both laughed.
“Ooh, what is this?” Brad “Thunder” Bird interrupted after overhearing their playful banter. “I love it. I love it. This dynamic is perfect. You know, I ought to suggest the both of you for another upcoming PixCar film.”
“Really?” Lightning looked at Brad and then Sally as they listened to the proposal.
“Yeah, you two would be perfect. It’s about two cars who can’t stand each other. Only problem is, the are the last two of their model so they have to do something to save their model from extinction. You know what I'm sayin'? It’s called fiat.” Brad smiled enthusiastically. “Whaddya say?”
“Uh, well…” Sally looked at Lightning nervously, not sure how to say what she was thinking in any polite way.
“Nah, you know what, I think we’ll pass,” Lightning responded, making Sally grateful that she didn’t have to.
“Are you sure? It’s bound to be a hit,” Brad tried to convince them.
“Yeah, we’re sure,” Lightning responded, trying not to be rude. “But, uh, tell everyone at the studio good luck with that.”
The End
Alright, now for a quick appendix of the jokes/autospoofs used in the story in case any went over heads (because if so it's probably my fault for not being clearer, haha).
GM's Chinese Drive In Theater - Grauman's Chinese Theater translated to GM (General Motors)
Brad "Thunder" Bird - You should probably know this, but Brad Bird is the mind behind The Incredibles and a play on Thunderbird. (And of course, credit goes to
bellomee13.)
Under-Tow - Is Mater!! If you didn't get that...you probably shouldn't have wasted your time reading this, tbh. Sorry to be brutal.
Wilbur Robinson - Wilbur is from Disney's Meet The Robinsons. There is an almost occult pairing of Wilbur and Violet online so I just couldn't resist. He is a DeLorean, which is the car from Back To The Future fame and it felt perfect since Wilbur is from the future and loves to time travel!
John Navistar - Is John Lasseter in car form. Navistar is an automaker of work trucks, busses, and the basic parts for large SUVs/trucks. Basically, Navistar is trusted to make capable work horse type vehicles. Thus I thought it fitting for J.L.
fiat - a play on canceled Pixar film, newt.
Final unnecessary disclaimer: the Aston Martin who "played" Mirage was NOT intended to be a car version of Mirage's real life voice actress, Elizabeth Peña. Instead she's supposed to be her own actress within Carsverse. Why? Because I am not trying to insinuate that Elizabeth Peña is cheating on her husband!! Dx
*passes out* Thanks for bearing with the awkwardness of this novel of a post. It was a blast writing the story, but I'm always afraid that anything I have to explain won't be enjoyed by anyone :/
