Try seeing if you can travel any of this by megatrain. It's pretty cheap.

or getting a travel card and leaving after 10am on most days.

Also if you aren't going to Bristol I'll probably just return home from London that night and then go to Bristol from Axminster the next night. It should be cheaper and easier for you and George to get a 2 bed private room in a hostel.
