resolutions

I finally followed through on one of my resolutions: I now own, and have smoked, a tobacco pipe. It is amazing! I got it at a very snooty tobacconist in Harvard Square that very emphatically, and really for seriously, sells products FOR TOBACCO USE ONLY. They are an actual tobacconist ( Read more... )

pipes = sophisticated, but cancer = bad. watch yourself, or you'll end up on a respirator at the old folks home with me!

I must have gotten my pipe from an insufficiently snooty tobacconist, for it came with the wee metal gadget. One of these evenings I shall light up in my armchair and think of you.

P.S. Were you around in high school when George Rausch would spend significant amounts of time both talking to my dad, and talk about it was his goal to smoke a pipe with my dad?

I've found that while undignified, so called Misouri Meerchaum give some of the best smokes around. I was particularly fond of Frog-Morton.

The Czech Pipe-tool is an absolute must, metal though it may be.
