What do you look for in a friend? Companionship... and the ability to be a really excellent, trustworthy teammate and isn't stupid. They need to be able to listen to me and give lots of feedback when I ask them questions. A good, attentive person who will always back me up. While I don't want my friends to be smarter than me, I prefer that they aren't empty-headed, either and also have lots of skills that can balance mine out ((mainly skills that I'm not so great with... because like I said, I look for a teammate when it comes to best friends)). Because of my whole thing with "teammates", I want them to be on the same wavelength as me and be really easy to deal with. 100% good communication is best because bad communication gets annoying and only makes them frustrating. They don't have to be a really outgoing extrovert: just someone that will be totally honest with me and will be eager to share his/her ideas with me. NO HIDING IMPORTANT INFO FROM ME. We're teammates and pals and should be able to trust each other fully. I've had rather damaging situations involving dishonesty from so-called "friends" in the past so it's a really huge deal for me to be 100% honest all the time ((even if it means being an ass :P)). I also am not fond of lazy people. I like my friends as ambitious go-getters. I can be a really gloomy pessimist at times so someone with energy and enthusiasm would really do me some good.
What would you do if a friend betrayed you? Well, considering this has happened IRL before, I know what it's like. I honestly wished the people dead afterward, if you can even call them "people" after that. Meh. Considering how I always get villain stamps, if it was the Tales world, then yeah, I'd just kill the traitor. The world will be better off without their sorry faces. IRL I won't kill anyone, though. I have too many goals in life and have better self control than that. Those "people" who betrayed me just ended up being badmouthed forever with their computers hacked so they'd look stupid in front of all their internet pals. Haven't had any contact with them whatsoever in a long time, so they're practically dead to me anyways.
Mention one friend you'll never forget, and why: Hmm... probably a long-time friend of mine named James. He lives on the other side of the country now and we still chat every now and then. He's just someone who I've probably been able to trust more than anybody and we always made a good team when we would game with each other against other two-player teams. We didn't have to say much to have pretty much perfect communication. Never misunderstood each other. We've kind of gone our separate ways, but even in the rare moments we get to talk again, it's like old times and I know he won't ever forget me, either. A good word to describe his relationship to me is probably "sidekick". Yes... I really would like a sidekick type teammate as a best friend. He called himself my sidekick, too, so that's pretty well established.
Can you stand having a rivalry with your best friend?: No. My best friend is NOT my rival. I've had friendly rivalries but they weren't with close friends. They were with people I knew and had a similar level of competitive skill at whatever we were rivals with. A best friend works with me and never against me.
Would you prefer to look out for your friend or have your friend look out for you: Look out for my friend mostly. I'm a bit of a dominant personality and I'm the first born in my family, so it's probably just my nature to prefer looking out for others rather than a friend looking out for me. Though I wouldn't be totally against them looking out for me once in a while. I don't feel strongly either way. Probably best for both sides to look out for each other.
Is there a Tales character you feel like you'd never be able to get along with? You're allowed two: OMG Emil. I always feel homicidal when I play ToS2 because he's in that. He's the main reason I can't finish that game Dx the most horrible character in Tales history wtf ((and I've played all the US release ones...)). Second most horrible is Marta. That voice she has annoys me to death and I can't stand those girls who are like that. I'm glad there's an ending to ToS2 where Emil dies. If/when I ever get that far, I want that ending. Seriously.

Leader or Follower? A follower but with the will and independence to be able to handle his/her role as leader if he/she gets put in that situation where he has to be a leader. But yeah, I like the whole sidekick/companion thing so usually I'm probably leader more often than not.
Listener or Speaker? Both. I want them to be able to hear what I have to say and take it to heart, but also be confident enough to know he/she can tell me anything and be honest about it. Communication is a two-way thing so my best friend should be able to do both well.
Persistent or Weak-willed? Persistent. Weak-willed people make me sick. Persistent people have drive and that's something I will happily work with. Their ideas and opinions are strong and that's something I can respect. But they also need to be respectful of my ideas and opinions, too, and not be too persistent. Just no weak-willed people... they don't make good friends because they're too easy to boss around so they end up being submissive. I hate that because that makes them hard to communicate with properly.
Pessimistic or Optimistic? A healthy dose of each, but leaning towards optimistic because I'm rather pessimistic and a best friend should have what I lack. But... they shouldn't be so optimistic that they're idiots about it. Optimistic to see their future path but pessimistic enough to see their faults and flaws, but then know how to fix those faults and flaws. Someone who's willing to improve themselves to be a better person and friend.
Patient or Impatient? I think somewhere in the middle. People who are too patient end up being too lax about everything and so they never get anywhere. There needs to be some level of impatience all because it's necessary to move on. But if they're too impatient, that's bad, too, because then they just run into things without thinking and that just makes them a pain in the ass to deal with e_e
Common Sense or Book Smart? Common sense. From my experience, the book smart people are always the most unrealistic because everything is the ideal situations from books. Common sense comes from real life experience so they're actually more skilled and more logical than a book smart person. I like friends who are active and have lots of different kinds of experiences under their belts, especially ones I don't have.
Business or Pleasure? Hrm... I suppose business because I'm a pretty serious person and I get annoyed when I feel like my time is wasted xP I like it when my best friend is able to work with me seriously and methodically, but I also would like them to be capable of brightening my day with playfulness, too. I'd like a playful-ish friendship on some level... because I like to tease my friends a lot xP So... my best friend would have to be good humored enough to be able to take a joke and not be hurt by it at all. if anything, they enjoy me teasing them. It's just how I like to play, I guess.
Alone or With a Group? I can't seem to bring myself to a preference here...
Serious or Mischievous? Mischievous. I'm the serious one so I'd like my best friend to balance me better. My best friend, while liking to be teased, is also probably quite clever and skilled, so he/she probably has some lulzy, mischievous ways to have fun. They wouldn't be a "bad" person but not a goody goody, either. Perhaps not totally break the rules but pushing the limits a little? Sneaking into another friends' house or hacking a friends' computer for lulz xD
Going out or Staying indoors? Going out! There's only so much that can be done indoors. I'm an outdoorsy type of person so summer is pretty much never spend inside ((it's really cold and rainy where I live 8 months of the year so summer is really the best time to do anything)). My friend would probably be like me and get bored if he/she has to stay inside too long.
Partying all night or quiet evening with someone? Depends... but not sure.

Do you prefer your friends to be like you or different? DIFFERENT. The people who I found to be most similar to me in personality always piss me off to no end. I'm too competitive and mean to have friends like me xP I'm way easier to deal with when it comes to people aren't like me. A best friend to me wouldn't lose their temper very easily and is probably fairly perky. The only things they should have in common with me is having a pretty good range of skills they've worked hard for and that they have a decently creative mind.
Do you usually wait to know what a favor is to agree to help, or do you say yes right away? I wait to know. Like I said before, honesty is really important so if my friend really wants this favor done, then they should be giving me all the details. I don't want to go into a situation not knowing about everything going on because it might make me feel stupid and angry. I like things with as minimal unknowns as possible.
When asked for advice, do you say what they want to hear or what you know they should hear? I tell them my honest opinion, no exceptions. Even if it makes me sound rude or mean, then it's probably deserved on their part. They should expect to get the harsh truth from me, then take it to heart and improve themselves. They'll expect this from me but also never get upset at me for it. They might feel a bit down for a while... but they know it's the truth so they take it to heart and no hard feelings between us. They're a capable person, so it is probably motivational to them, too.
Your friend tells you she/he is about to do something that you think it's stupid or simply suicidal. What do you do? If they're telling me this, then they're likely unsure if what they're doing is the right thing or not so they're looking for support. Luckily, we're both clever enough to come up with an alternative solution to whatever problem is causing my friend to do this stupid or suicidal thing. My friend may have thought the answers could only be A or B, but by coming to me, we'll suddenly have solutions C, D, E, F and G to brainstorm. Whatever happens won't be as bad for my friend if he/she came to me. The situation won't be stupid or suicidal anymore.
Are secrets kept safe with you? There's no reason why they wouldn't be.
