Ash awoke on a soft bed, wrapped in a sheet woven of the finest linen. His head felt several sizes too big for hsi body, which seemed to be tender and bruised. His left arm felt numb, as if it had been dislodged from his body. The comforting weight of his muskets were missing.
With a groan of pain and irritation, he forced his eyes open. The

Ash clicked his tongue and blinked a few times, defiant in at least moving that much. "Well, I guess I don't need to put on that stinking hood now," he commented. He took a deep breath, and was strikingly aware at how much his chest rose. Would it be enough to set the other person off?
"But as you can see," he continued, "I'm completely unarmed. And you could've killed me when I was down. So why wait until now?" After he said those words, he mentally cursed himself. If his movements weren't enough to set this person off, then surely his attitude was.

"A......Ad....pr..." The Summoner mumbled as she tossed in her sleep. "Pr.......lle...."
She began to break out into a feverish sweat once again, a very warm hand accidently falling against the cheek of the Draconis girl resting beside her. Whatever was causing this nightmare for Seraphine was clearly holding its grasp firm on her heart and soul.

"You were on an Alliance ship. The AMS Kail, as it were. No Durani are allowed employ into the Alliance Navy." She smirks. Elle uncocks Ash's musket, all the while, still watching the Durani Outlaw. "Would you care to explain what you were doing on-board?"

Seraphine wasn't going to make this easy for Whyte as she struggled against his painful grasp upon her mind. He could see as the Summoner began to struggle against his control that her eyes were a bit brighter than normal, and the gaze was locked straight upon Whyte's. It was one of those rare indications that a high-elf would show that he/she was in a state of great anger. In fact, Seraphine was getting more pissed off each second this pain ravaged her mind.
If only Adrianna were here, Seraphine's thoughts raced to her former savior in the knick of time. I wouldn't be feeling this way. This Whyte, this, demon before me, he won't get away with this. He's the one!"I will not be used," Seraphine's voice rose higher to a commanding tone as she ( ... )

Roll Required: 10
Seraphine: 11 (You are so lucky. You really are. I want no more complaints about you having ill fortune with Die rolls.)
A bolt of bright purple energy sparks from Seraphine's arms. Whyte's single exposed eye widens in shock. It is short lasting, however, as a smile quickly forms on his face.
"You truly are gifted." He says. Whyte begins his pacing again. "But what will you do now? You may have temporarily resisted my control, but it will not last forever." Whyte shifts his weight, and turns to look Seraphine in the eyes.
The Summoner's eyes are again shifting to total black, as bolts of purple energy crackle and hiss about her form. Her teeth are cletched in anger and frustration.
"What will you do?"

It was quite obvious that Seraphine wanted nothing more than to bludgeon Whyte to a bloody pulp, but in her anger, experience and wisdom was keeping her at bay. Seraphine's eyes raced towards the circle of runes where the light was falling nearby her.
I am starting to understand why this room had such a lock. Her thoughts raced as she backed away from Whyte, but moved closer to the light. This beam of light might be an amplifier for the six forms of higher magic. I may have made an earlier mistake with the lock, but it is clear to me that I might be able to harness something from this. It could be very dangerous, but honestly I do not care about the risk, for this man is the one who will take Elle's life if I do nothing. Then again, nothing could happen, and if that is the case ( ... )
