I feel the need to defend her as well... but from Merlin's point of view I'm not sure it would be so simple.

Yes, this is true. I'm interested to see if there will be any confrontation of the four of them regarding this. But there are bigger issues now going on, what with Arthur having found Merlin.

Oh, they'll get a confrontation eventually--maybe not quite in a way that will explicitly play these issues out, but certainly in a way where all the characters will have this stuff in mind. Merlin and Arthur are definitely the main confrontation at the moment, though. They've both got a lot to say to each other.
