I really want to shake you for making me feel this bad and doing it so very well. I loved what you've done with Arthur. Much as I want to slap him, his motivations are completely wonderful and I love that he and Balinor are willing to do whatever it takes to keep Merlin safe - not that Merlin would agree with it at all.

This is brilliant.

Shaking is totally allowed, considering how mean I've been to the boys in this. I think at some point I'll have to write something entirely fluffy.

I'm not going to lie: I enjoy seeing him helpless too. I think it makes for a pretty interesting dynamic.

Oh my gosh. This story pulls at my heart- I love the way you write, Arthur and Merlin's points of view, and how the emotions are so painfully expressed. I anxiously await the next part!

Thank you! I'm still completely floored that people are finding my writing style interesting. It's really nice to hear.

Arthur's plan was brilliant and his exchange with Balinor was quite moving. This man knows nothing of his son, and the tidbits Arthur shared must have felt like heart felt jewels. Arthur really cares for Merlin and it shows. Balinor is leaving his son in good hands. Hands that Merlin is going to hate for a long while.

Arthur's interaction with Balinor was really one of my favorite parts to write, mainly because I think it's a way to plausibly have Arthur say things that he wouldn't say in a conversation with Merlin. Basically, in a dialogue with Balinor, there's more possibility to explore exactly what's going on in Arthur's head in a way there wouldn't be if he were having a conversation with Merlin.
