This emotional ending hit all the right notes. Merlin's openness and assurances are just what Arthur has needed to hear to set both men on the path to healing their strained relationship. Arthur has regrets about the terrible decision he had to make, but it was the right decision. Thank you for showing Merlin grieving and forgiving are an arduous process, there's no quick fix here. There is hope, though, and that's something.

Thanks for sharing this beautifully written, emotionally devastating story. At every turn, both Arthur and Merlin's actions and relations rang true to the characters. It was a fantastic read.

I'm ridiculously glad that the ending worked for you. It took a really long time for me to edit it to the point where I was even partially satisfied. The hopeful ending, though--that was what was most important to me, along with the idea that there was, as you say, no quick fix.

I have no idea how to describe how I feel about this fic. Everything was perfect; the characters, the emotion, the plot, the ending...all of it was completely at its peak and brought together very well. I love how you added the element of Arthur's control over Merlin's magic. This was a fresh version of a reveal fic and very, very well written. Thank you for sharing this!
