For ease in reading, would it be possible for you to link your chapters at the end?

Yup, absolutely. I definitely should have done that originally.

*cheers* Woohoo, great to see this story posted with art and everything! It'll be fun to reread as just a spectator. I'm enjoying finding clues I missed the first time around. They're perfect - subtle, but not buried too deep.

I love how you tied in Gaius's death with the suppression of Merlin's magic and Camelot's too-little-too-late resistance. Nice touches. I also like how you explained why the leader had to kill Uther in the way that he did.

And this line:
It’s always possible that he’s telling the truth. But honestly? As Merlin is pulled out of the room, glaring back over his shoulder, he can’t help but admit that he’d very much prefer to believe the man is lying.

That's my saucy gent! WTB, Merlin. ♥

It's always fun to go back and read a story you've looked over. :) I admit to doing it with yours too.

Glad the explanation for Uther's death worked for you--that was one thing you caught (among others) that I was really appreciative of. Since I was writing Vortigern as an OC, I didn't have characterization from the show to base him off of, so it was harder for me to keep him consistent. Or something. Yeah. But, anyway: nice catch on seeing that particular contradiction in characterization.

And, yup, that's our Merlin. :D
