Trying to Fly Home: A Comedy of Errors

So, as y'all may or may not know, I went out to Pennsylvania for a couple of weeks to spend time with the lovely glashund and attend Anthrocon. The con was great! I met Mercedes Lackey, and got to watch ursulav try desperately not to fangirl herself to death at same! It is my opinion that hell is an ungodly hybrid of a hospital, a DMV, and an airport. I dunno what it is about flying, the TSA guys or what, but somehow I handle travel confusion and delays SO much better by bus or subway than I do planes.

I too am happy never to fly again.

Many years ago I got on a plane in Atlanta to fly to L.A. by way of Dallas, and the plane backed away from the loading ramp into a boarding ladder, damaging the wing. So, after a while, we all got on another plane which blew out all the tires on the left landing gear when landing in Dallas. So we waited for our replacement, which blew out an oil line. So we eventually got on another replacement plane which took us to L.A. without bursting into flames or anything, which was a refreshing change....
