So. Do I pay the $1,050 for the Kaplan GRE prep course, or do I buy the books, attempt to study, and wing it???

advice greatly appreciated.

Hey boss.

I hope everything is well there. I'm just drinking vodka and causing trouble in the PacNorthwest. Today's excitement involved llamas and Bret Easton Ellis' new novel.

Depend on how you normally fare on standardized tests. The general GRE is a great deal like the SAT, but there is a third section that contains all logic problems. I took the GRE back in 1990 with no preparation and did well. Bear in mind, though that my ability to perform well on standardized test exceeds my ability to perform in real life. If you're a good test taker, don't sweat it. If standardized tests freak you out, take the course.

Thank you for the advice. I'd probably benefit from some prep, just not $1050 prep...though I'm beginning to consider going to broadcasting school, in which case I wouldn't need the GRE at all...for now...

(Large question mark.)
