Happy new year! May 2007 be better than 2006. Which rather sucked for me, but could have been much worse. I'm planning some pretty significant changes for this year and think I may even be able to pull them off.

So, I had a simple plan for the day: run errands, read the book I have to write 500 words on by Monday, and knit. The knitting and reading are going fine, although the cats in the lap make it a bit awkward, but the errands left me in an absolutely foul mood. So, my brother seemed to be in pretty good shape a couple of weeks ago, but apparently now is worse than he's ever been. Potentially suicidal emails and all. Mental illness is a bitch.

Yay, September. My craziest days of the year are done and the new students are (almost all) safely arrived and talked to; I had a wonderfully relaxing and mildly productive long weekend; I'm looking forward to starting classes again on Monday. Hello again, livejournal world. I've missed you. My computer died about a month ago, but I now have a spiffy new laptop and will be catching up some.

Spring has definitely sprung and the flowers are gorgeous. There's one quite small bed on my way to work that has about 10 different kinds of tulips and they make me smile every morning.
