Love and Marriage by

In Sakamoto’s opinion, there is someone out there for everyone. Some people were lucky. They found that person early in life and had the opportunity to grow up and old together. He had friends who had met their second halves as early as junior high school.
Other people, however, for one reason or another, took much longer to find that special someone.
He believed that idols were included in this second category.
Idols were constantly in the spotlight with work schedules that demanded priority over personal relationships. Most times, the relationship needed to be kept in the shadows. They couldn’t go on dates or even hang out in public. When it came down to it, a normal relationship was just not possible. For most people, this was a huge issue and those relationships would disappear.
That being said, it made Sakamoto all the more happier when one of his friends, who happened to be an idol, was able to find their special someone even through all the chaos.
No one had been terribly surprised when Inohara started to date Seto Asaka. She was pretty, kind and always enjoyed a good laugh. Inohara was good looking, talented, and very good at making others laugh. During their drama filming they’d gotten along quite well and it had been a natural turn towards romance.
When Inohara announced that they were going to get married, no one was really surprised either. They’d been dating for nearly 12 years (on and off at first and then seriously for the last 5) and the two were already living together. They announced their engagement at a V6 concert and held a press conference after. The fans, after all, were always very important.
And although they had been quite public with the announcement, the actual ceremony and reception were small and intimate… well… by celebrity standards anyway.
All in all, Sakamoto mused as he sat down next to Nagano and the other members of V6 at the reception, the day had gone pretty well. Not one horribly disrespectful word had been released from either Go’s or Ken’s mouths (he patted himself on the back for having thought to lecture them in advance), Inohara looked as if the incredibly goofy smile was going to be a permanent thing (god help them all), and best of all, the reception hall had an open bar (we’ll ignore the average alcohol tolerance of V6 for the moment). Yep, he mused as he drank his third glass of beer, things were good.
As he finished that third and pondered a fourth, Nagano gave him a look that clearly stated that he wasn’t going to carry him home should he get drunk. Sakamoto shrugged and offered to pay for the cab ride home as he signaled the waiter for another beer.
His beer arrived just as dinner was being served so he only received one last warning glance before Nagano pulled out his camera to ceremoniously photograph his food.
Yep, Sakamoto thought, taking his first big bite of steak, life was good.
“Why isn’t leader married yet?”
Sakamoto promptly choked on his steak. Nagano paused taking pictures long enough to hand him a napkin. Everyone else turned to stare at the newlywed man. They could see that Leader had not been the only one making use of the open bar.
Inohara slurred, “Leader should get married already! You’re only getting older… Don’t you want this?” He proceeded to make kissy faces at his new wife, but Sakamoto was too busy trying to down his beer to notice.
“Urusai Inohara… Leader’s already married,” Ken announced loudly. The younger man had also been drinking and that didn’t bode well for anyone.
Nagano had to resort to taking pictures of his food with one hand and clapping on Sakamoto’s back with the other as the older man choked on his beer too. Everyone else turned to stare at Ken, but the younger boy was sharing knowing nods with the other KamiSen members. They were the younger half of the group, but they knew what they were talking about.
Sakamoto already didn’t like it.
“Yeah,” Junichi said, catching on quickly. “Stop trying to break up mommy and daddy, Inocchi. I don’t want divorced parents!”
Inohara’s quite slow on the uptake, especially when alcohol is present, but when he finally managed to connect the dots, he let out a huge sound of understanding. “Oh, that’s RIGHT! I forgot about that!”
Brats, Sakamoto thought darkly. Brats forever, all of them. It was never going to change. 14, 20, 25, almost 30… it didn’t matter. He turned to Nagano mournfully, hoping he’d say something. Anything.
Nagano set aside his camera and finally began to eat.
“Leader’s been married for years,” Go managed between the laughs he was failing to cover with his hand. “They were probably dating since before we all met!”
“Hey…” he muttered when Nagano still said nothing. He tried to keep the whine out of his voice. “Help me out here!” The children are acting up!
Nagano cut another piece of steak and chewed slowly, taking in each aspect of its flavor. He then turned to Inohara’s new wife and said conversationally, “Congratulations and welcome to the family. As you can see, they’re all quite immature and childish so you and I are just going to have to do our best to keep them all in check. Don’t worry,” he added, smiling reassuringly. “It gets easier with time.”
And that was that. Everyone continued to talk about other things that didn’t have anything to do with Sakamoto’s love life.
With Nagano, it was never what he said, but the way in which he said it.
Just like other Johnny’s groups, the members of V6 really did love their leader the best, and they were firm believers that that love needed to be shown daily… in mounds and heaps. Like constantly reminding him that he was creeping closer and closer to 40… or sharing a new pet beetle… or sending him up to high places… but you just didn’t want to make mommy mad in the process.
And mommy had already used what Junichi secretly called “Okaa-san’s scary voice”.
Somewhat deflated, Sakamoto looked to Nagano for permission to at least order another beer. The younger man did no such thing and continued to eat his steak.
The oldest member of V6 truly believed that there was someone out there for everyone. He even acknowledged that that someone was sometimes right in front of your face and you could not realize it… but he just refused to believe that the person meant for him was the slightly younger man sitting in the cab next to him, scanning through the pictures he’d taken of his dinner.
Definitely not, he though sourly as that same man held him to his earlier statement of paying for the cab fare.

A/N: I really don’t know if I did this whole remix thing properly or not… Especially since I’ve never done it before and have probably not read one before (not consciously anyway), but yeah. Ta-da~!
Comments (and concrit) all very much appreciated.
