“Argh~!” shouted Captain Mikkun. “Let’s find us some buried treasure!”
“Aye, aye Captain!” cried out Sailors Kenpi and Tama-chan.
First Mate Taipi rolled the treasure map out on the ground. He pointed out their current location. “According to the map, if we go down these stairs, around the rabbit cages, behind the monkey bars, up the ladder, down the slide, and towards this… um… tree? Then the treasure is buried in that area.”
The rest of the Kisumai Kaizoku crew leaned in closer to see the map. To the left, there was a Godzilla-sized rabbit, trampling all over the monkey bars. Following the winding dotted line, it wrapped around what appeared to be a black, scraggly stick.
“First Mate Taipi…”
“Yes, Captain Mikkun!”
“How did you… obtain this treasure map?”
“The boys over in ABC-Z Gumi gave it to me!”
“I… see…” Captain Mikkun said slowly while some of the other crew members’ mouths formed the shape of an ‘o’. “I think Fumikyun drew the rabbit.”

[20 minutes later…]
“It can’t be these stairs,” Sailor Kenpi insisted. “It’s the wrong color!”
“Oh, please,” Cabin Boy Nika-chan said, scoffing. “Do you really think those guys in ABC-Z Gumi even know the difference between cream and tan?”
“Now, now,” Watta the Cook said, pulling the map gently out of Sailor Kenpi’s grasp. “The stairs aren’t important. We should be fine if we start from the rabbit cages.”

“First Mate Taipi.”
“Yes, Watta the Cook.”
“Where might Sailor Tama-chan and Miyacchi the Parrot be?”
“On a mission to locate Captain Mikkun.”
“…And where did Captain Mikkun go?’
.oO@Oo.
“They’ve made it to the monkey bars,” Sailor Tama-chan reported. “We should hurry Captain!”
“Hurry Captain!” cried Miyacchi the Parrot.
Captain Mikkun rubbed the sleep from his eyes as they rushed to catch up with the rest of the Kisumai Kaizoku crew.

Having all been reunited at the monkey bars, they’d climbed up the ladder, gone down the slide, then around some trees. This is where they ran into another snatch. On the map, there was one tree. In actuality, there were two. After being unsuccessful in finding treasure under the first tree, the nice school director guided them away from the second, and towards the sandbox.
“Grab your shovels men!” Captain Mikkun ordered, motioning over to the bright plastic tools conveniently laid out nearby.
Soon after they started digging, they heard a loud thunk.
“Captain! I think we found something!” First Mate Taipi reported.
“Good work! Let’s bring it up!”

“What a beautiful bracelet you’ve got there, Yuta,” Tamamori-san said when she picked him up that afternoon. “Where did you get it?”
Tama-chan looked at the gold paper bracelet taped around his wrist proudly. “We found some buried treasure today!”
OWARI
When I finished writing this this afternoon, I realized how much I miss my kindergarten kids. They're preparing for their spring play thing so I haven't seen them in 3 weeks. (.. ;)
