UPDATES:
I’ve been finding the pressure of having an agent detrimental to my writing process lately. Whenever I sit down to write for the day, I feel like she is watching over my shoulder and I imagine what feedback she will give on different sections of the writing as I’m writing it.
I am literally trying to second guess what she will say BEFORE I

As for feedback--as I had to write blurbs for my books recently, I've been gving endless query writing feedback. I've been REALLY enjoying it. Can't wait until everyone starts querying and I can see if my query skills were enough to earn them requests for fulls!

I think I need to write another tutorial on queries. An in-depth one of the blurb writing part. It will be insanely long though, so the idea gives me a headache.

If you include uni text books... I get a LOT more books read in a year, though I often don't read them all the way through.
I was thinking I'd only read five this year--then I counted the new books I brought and read since Jan and it's closer to 20. :P

I don't have a lot of time to read, nor am I as fast as I once was (before I needed glasses), but I do read every day. It doesn't add up to as many books as I would like.

And I don't get along with the library in my area.
The last book I bought was two hundred and fifty dollars. (CG Jung's the red book)
and the last time I went to the library I got yelled at because they still didn't have my book in.
(I'm not a terribly patient person, and I'm not very forgiving when they give out the book I ordered to some one else.)
To answer your question I need a new (good) book every week and a half to keep me happy. Unfortunately I've been restricted to buying one book at a time and they take two to three weeks to arrive.
Luckily I have Dune to fall back on. :)

I don't have any issues with the local library, but they don't have a lot of stock. Moving to a regional area was not my best idea ever... it's so gorgeous here, but you miss the little things civilisation has to offer...
I suspect buying a e-reader of some kind and getting e-books would be the cheapest option... but I'm worried about reading on a screen all the time.

As for how many books I read in a year, it's usually somewhere between 25 and 35. I'd like to read more though. Next year, I'm going to make it a goal to read either 20,000 pages or 50 books. Whatever comes first.

Hopefully as my tips progress they will inspire you!
What genres do you like to read when you do read? I often find there are a lot of fantastic new books in the world-but they aren’t at the library or affordable, so that often limits my reading a little.
