I watch Real Housewives, Project Runway and Jeopardy! I think that guy who plays The Mentalist is really cute too.

Ah, so you're not actually positing a "god handicap." You're positing a "Jesus and sometimes Allah" handicap. Well, at least now you are retreating from what was obviously an untenable position.

I'm not sure exactly how you'd support the assertion that Blue Laws are proof of a handicap that would put someone like, say, Monsignor Georges Lemaître at some intellectual disadvantage to his non-Christian peers. Can you explain the correlation between the legal codification of a cultural norm in the United States with the ability of a Belgian priest to think critically about the cosmos?

No. Because that is a non sequitur to the observation, Lenny.

You are a modern Christian. Modern Christians have a god handicap. You believe in myths and are limited by said myths. Those who think along similar lines allow those myths to permeate our secular law system.

You, personally create a church and benefit from what in my opinion is delusional and sometimes dangerous thinking (see, Galileo, Joan of Arc, Bush2, et al).

I stand by my opinion. Clever words and word puzzles will not change my position. I've stated it clearly. If you can't understand, perhaps it proves my point.

Oh and your god hates fags according to many of your brethren. Just sayin....

Ah, so now we have established that the assertion that Blue Laws constitute proof of a "Jesus and sometimes Allah handicap" was actually a non sequitur. We are making progress!

I stand by my opinion. Clever words and word puzzles will not change my position.

It is interesting that you refer to rational discourse as "clever words and word puzzles." I rather thought rational discourse was the substantive means by which we explore and validate ideas. But perhaps I only believe that to be the case because of my intellectual handicaps.

No matter, you have now further let it be known that you stand by your opinions regardless of where rational discourse may lead us. I think that admission is sufficient for our present purposes.

Thank you. I am pleased your ego is finally soothed.

I'm not sure why you are now raising the issue of my ego. The question at hand was cleary what a "god handicap" might be and how you might construct a coherent argument for such a thing.

Your failure to do so -- and, in point of fact, your immediate recanting of each successive position you've taken -- doesn't seem to have any bearing whatsoever on the condition of my ego.

I am not sure why you are now introducing the idea of wishes in this thread. The matter at hand was what a "god handicap" might be and how you might construct a coherent argument for such a thing. My wishes -- like my ego -- don't seem to have any relevance to this topic.

Tsk.

Pulling an Omar icon is not helping you let go of this, Lenny. Edgy...but...not really.

Nor is this disturbing thread you can't seem to allow someone else to have the last word, dis-proving any hint of superior intellect; indeed, your diatribe has dissolved into schoolyard childishness, a hallmark of the 'dedicated christian'. Damn, more stereotypes confirmed in this thread than all of the internets.

Keep it up; this constant reinforcing my opinion that you are somehow...I know know...on medication? With every word you type...

It helps me feel secure in my position.

You do have issues don't you? Wait wait, don't leave yet!

Seriously Lenny, you Christians are so much smarter than us rational thinking people. Is that better? *head pat* If it hurts your feelings, then that should be explanation enough. Rational thinkers would understand.

Oh for sure, there is nothing god-handicapped about you, preacher. Nothing at all....

No one made an assertion about Christians being smarter than anyone else. The question at hand is whether there is such a thing as a "god handicap." If you would like to make a comment supporting this position, feel free to do so.

But my preference is that you would refrain from casting aspersions on people who may be using medication appropriately. I mean, if I were using such medication, it would not be evidence of a "god handicap" -- or indeed of any type of intellectual handicap whatsoever.

What it would be evidence of your god- handicap is your insistent obsession with an answer on a sub thread.

Make a post on your blog, tp-n or even tp. As I have patiently tried to explain to you for two days now, this is too important an discussion to be left between us two
.
Me, I am even firmer in my stated opinion, even if it was originally only banter (that you chose to take issue). Nor do I not have to offer you any explanation whatsoever. Not satisfied. Too bad, Lenny. Sucks to be you. Go read your good book.

I'll take your preferences under advisement.

No, my cotinued participation in this sub-thread would most certainly not be evidence of a "god handicap" that has adversely affected my intellect. One might possibly construe it as evidencing some defect of character -- but that is certainly not the same thing as a defect of intellect ( ... )

Sorry you feel this way about substantive, rational challenges to your deeply held prejudices.

yeah

me too Lenny. Me too.

sucks to be content with one's fate, instead of childishly wishing for a nice bunk in Heavenville with The Jesus™

So what have I gotten from these three days of banter and repartee? Well...let's see...several stereotypes reinforced, and I got to see what kind of human you really seem to be when challenged.

I can not describe to someone (like you) the existence of a very blind spot in your thought processes. Even if you realized it existed, you would rationalize away the reality by, oh, reading the bible or prayin' about it.

You people...always demanding the impossible. *shrugs* sorry Lenny, I simply can not take someone serious about any discussion rationalizing why they seem to have lower intelligence in order to accept as 'faith or fact' that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior and the Only Way to Heaven and God is Through Him.

Keep typing, I have all week :)

Odd. I don't think I've been challenged at all. You're the one who was challenged to support your assertion about a "god handicap" with rational argument. And it does not appear as if you've risen to the occasion at all.

I simply can not take someone serious about any discussion rationalizing why they seem to have lower intelligence

But we have not seen any evidence of "lower intelligence," have we?
