If man-made climate change is the greatest threat facing us, and that threat is imminent - any plan/treaty/accord which not only doesn't require the #1 emitter of CO2 to decrease those emissions, but actually allows for them to increase for 15-20 years - isn't a very good plan/treaty/accord.

I don't see any particular reason why the Federal government is necessary to this process. Oh, sure it might be nice to have a wise and benevolent uber-authority directing with precision and wisdom the actions and desires of the citizens, controlling with absolute foresight the levers of the economy while educating all of us in what is truly needed and what is merely vanity and waste. I get it. Unfortunately, that kind of holistic government isn't possible at the moment, given our Constitution and the limits it places on power and the constraint it exerts over authority ( ... )
