Penguin Webcam and iGoogle

I made the possible mistake of setting up my iGoogle homepage recently, and I really went to town. It's got some really fun stuff you can add -- I especially like the Monterey Bay Aquarium webcams. After trying a few out, the undisputed best is the penguin cam

This sounds really cool! I tried to view it, but for some reason my Firefox wants to open the mozilla mplayer for the webcam, and then won't play, and I haven't figured out how to either make it work, or make it go away. I didn't even know that there was an iGoogle or that I could customize a home page! thanks!

Mine works in firefox, but only barely. I had some crashing in my first attempts, although it did play in the window. Do you have all the latest ff updates?

I also enjoy the writer's block tool, which generates weird random plot stories. It's only occasionally reptitive, and definitely poetic.

Did you get the LJ friends thing to work on iGoogle? It never logging in for me, although I dismantled my iGoogle in the hope that it would mean I wasted less time.

No, never tried the lj thing, but have to admit that since the penguim webcam has been down recently, i'm getting more work done too. It's really too bad that my screen faces the hall :-)

I thought I might have some photos of the Monterey penguin pen, but I only got one. I seemed to have been more taken with the otters, who were much more active when I was there, but didn't come out well on camera. Much more photogenic were the jellyfish.

Thanks for the penguin shot at Monterey. I've become a big fan of aquaria. I should head into Boston to see ours again, it has tons of penguins!
