That was so sweet of you. I hope Mr. Sanders is going to be okay! They sound like such a lovely couple (as do you and Dan). :)

It's a shame that we never actually got to meet, by the way!

they really are wonderful. as it turns out, his surgery went really well and he came home from the hospital today. he is sore and obviously will be home for a while healing, but the fact that it went well and he is still truckin' .. that makes me happy :)

and yes, it really is a shame that we've never met. especially now that all of the awkwardness is out of the way! haha. i'm sure we could have some awesome fun together. not to mention some crazy conversations.

i still think it's fun that we "keep in touch" via livejournal etc. life is cool like that.

I'm glad he's doing well! He's only 50. He still has a lot of life ahead of him, and I hope he can stay happy and healthy in the meantime! :)

And yes, I guess there was some real awkwardness there for a while, huh? But I'm glad that disappeared over the years. I'm also glad we can keep in touch via this silly little thing, too! Hey, if you're ever in the Philly area or want to be, let me know. I can show you a good time! I've always wanted to see Tennessee, too. So hey, maybe that will happen sometime too!

my sister actually lives in philly. i went there once for a pedro the lion concert, but other than that, i've never been officially shown around.

tennessee looks a lot like pennsylvania. the only major differences are 1. the weather is generally 15 to 20 degrees warmer and 2. education isn't really a given. nor is it necessary for most jobs available. which is not really a good thing, but i got lucky when i married dan. he is so intelligent and informed, and we have many of the same opinions about things. however, unlike most opinionated people ;) he doesn't make me feel stupid when we differ.

if you ever happen to land in NETN (not nearly as awesome sounding as NEPA haha) i'd be happy to let you crash here.
