This makes me a little worried (and curious)about what's going to happen next.
I wonder who Jack's friend is supposed to be? I was thinking of Nathan, but he is not older than Jack, is he?

Yes, there's a dangerous situation coming up, some via an accidental circumstance and some stemming from Ennis still feeling like he has to prove himself to other people including David. Jack has discovered that he can't warn Ennis about it directly but can help in other ways, including reminding Ennis of a few things he's already learned since coming to Duluth ( ... )

Thanks for explaining to molly about the identity of the older friend. I'm going to go back and read chapter 23. I wish I hadn't seen the explanation about what's coming up because, weirdly, I was enjoying the sense of foreboding.

I have another question

“There's a guy I saw him talkin' to one morning.”

“That one's not in the dimensions any longer, and not here either. Didn't need to be. But revisit that, you might learn something."

Would you mind giving a link to the chapter in which Ennis had that encounter?

Sorry about that. Aside from the long gaps between postings, it's been a struggle to get the other-worldly subplot clear and at the same time not spell everything out. I felt I'd erred on the side of subtlety enough to make the chapter mystifying in a way I hadn't intended.

The person you're asking about isn't directly in the story; he's referred to about halfway through in Chapter 26, Part 1, which is at http://talkstocoyotes.livejournal.com/8417.html However, if you would rather wait to see what the upcoming danger is, those few paragraphs will probably tell you ahead of time.

I have to confess that I have loved your story since I first started it when you had already written quite a few chapters but I think I might not have ever left a comment and if that is the case I do apologise.

Thank you for referring us back to Chapter 16 as I was quite confused by this new chapter until I read that.

I especially enjoyed the lyrcial quality of the first paragraph.

Thank you
Lorna
