It was very enjoyable to read Ennis's approach & reactions to events - I felt like I was getting to know him a bit more somewhere from the way you wrote it. Maybe this is also part of the transition - somehow he is opening up. We'll see I guess!

well i am happy to see this update. it seems like the ones you do are so filled with a reality feel in the family relations...the push and pull of being a parent..trying not to seem overly smothering, and yet caring and concerned..ennis gave his daughter that feel of being loved and protect from afar..that is a precious thing to have..thanks again for the new chapters ....looking forward to ennis and david talking...janice

I remember my first glimpse of Boston when I was 14 after a lifetime living in rural Massachusetts. holy cow! Did I feel claustrophobic!
Very true to life. Now when does he get to meet David again...? hehe.

It's Ennis' natural reaction to an environment with too many people living too close together in too small a space. Some people are like that: too intense a dose of other humans' energy and it's like their batteries get drained quickly. The description of the environment isn't intended to be a slap at Denver particularly; it's pretty much a description of every suburban commercial area I've seen in the last 20 years. Most of these kinds of areas have so little character, if someone drove you to one of them blindfolded chances are you wouldn't see a clue as to what city you were in.

Well, as we all know, Ennis is stubborn about resisting change but he doesn't resist permanently.
