ABC Auto Repair, down on West 15th. Finest place to be goin' if you're lookin' to learn 'bout how the parts work.

Don't recall meetin' you before either. I'm Kaylee.

Well it's a real pleasure to meet ya, Miss Kaylee.

So you're the mechanically inclined kind? As a matter of fact I've been havin' some thoughts about a, uh... what was it... Motorcycle! That something you'd be familiar with?

Yeah, I thought so. Might read up about it some more. Not like I'm short on time or anything these days.

In hard times, psychological warfare is a good tool to fall back on if you know how to use it properly.

Psychological warfare, huh? You mean basically messin' with your enemy's head to get the upper hand, right?

That's a really weird name.

Wait. What you're saying, it sounds an awful lot like the old west.

Yeah, I guess that's what it's called these days. Far as I'm concerned though it's always been the Present Day West.

Oh dear.

Well, if it's any consolation, one of my friends is farther along in time than I am, so I get the feeling.

A little yeah. I spend alot of my time feeling like a dunce 'cause of it, but I think it's getting better.

Somehow I don't doubt that you will. Let me know if you've got any to spare, or .... on the off chance you want an extra hand? Can't say I've got much talent for anything outside of trackin' criminals. Not used to cities, but I'm getting my bearings. They're more subtle than the desert, but not unreadable - 'specially not one that's, well, nearly deserted.

Sounds like a weird test. Wouldn't just talking to someone work better?

And believe me, we've got enough people causing trouble, even with the monster around.

It is weird. But see, later, they really started getting into the whole talking to people part - call it psychotherapy. Apparently works pretty good, though sometimes they give people medicines too, but it's all about talking to your problems. There's a "coming thing" I never really even thought of.

Really? Doesn't much seem like it at the moment, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
