I think at one time or another we all have felt the way you do right now. It can be downright overwhelming. Being with someone is a great experience. Being single is a great experience too. It gives you a chance to be with yourself, explore your life, and you have certain freedoms that you don't have when you're in a relationship. I used to feel very lonely too. Along the way I realized that it stemmed not from a desire to be with someone, but a deeper sense of unhappiness with myself. So I started finding ways of taking better care of myself. It started with little things. But I started having a relationship with myself and I started getting involved with things I felt passionate about. Over time the loneliness went away and I found a relationship (or I should say it found me
( ... )
Thanks Sean. I guess that was just the words I needed to hear(read)... I'm riding a rollecoaster at the moment, going from confident to crap. But I guess the less time I spend feeling miserable(or thinking about how my life is going nowhere) the more time I have to do something I love. I guess I'm kinda waiting for someone to come and fix me, instead of just picking myself up and starting to appreciate what I already have.
Whining is too easy sometimes. :/
Anyway, yoga classes are starting in few weeks, along with work and school so I can get my thoughts together soon, I hope.
no disrespect to my boyfriend jasonspark, (picture of us) but i've spent most of my life single... and i loved it. I enjoy being with jasonspark a lot though.... but i have no problem being single at all
How old were you when you had your first serious RL with another man? I just sometimes get these major insecurities that I'm going to end up alone. I know I'm only 20 years old, but still I wish I'd have atleast some experience of RL's... (well, dated with a girl for almost 3 years before coming out but that doesn't count. : p)
But glad to know that you can actually survive single. : )
No, just kidding. Being in the same boat, I'd say keep busy, find a hobby where you interact with other gay people (and drinking at the local bar does NOT count as a hobby) and maybe you won't notice your lonliness as much. Of course, I wish all the nice lonely guys like us, could all live on the same street and then we wouldnt be alone.
