The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

This week Tim and I watched the movie The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.  I was a little apprehensive because I'd never heard of it (Tim likes to put obscure movies I know nothing about on our Netflix).  I thought it was both beautiful and heart wrenching, and I guess that's the point.  I can't imagine what it must have been like to live like that ( Read more... )

i agree. i think too many people live life like they've got another one coming. and maybe that's true, but there are no guarantees as far as i'm concerned. live life to the fullest, indeed. and "to the fullest" to me means living life with great sensitivity and awareness. it doesn't necessarily have to mean living wrecklessly and care-free, as many people tend to assume. one can live life to the fullest and be responsible at the same time. i think a lot of folks get caught up worrying too much about the future that they end up squandering their present (and by "present" i mean right now).

life is just one of those things, i think. a goal in life, if you ask me, should be to get better at it. people should be sensitive, sensible, and aware. learn something everyday, become a little bit better than you were the day before. to me it's just that simple. yep yep. the years don't come back once you get old.
