"We need to talk," Nick stated and sat down at the table.
Stephen nodded and waited for Cutter to begin. But Nick apparently didn't know how to start and remained silent instead.
So they just sat together in companionable silence, the way they had done so often in the past when words hadn't been necessary to understand each other.
When the detector's signal announced another anomaly, both men stood up.
"It was good to clear the air," Cutter said.
Stephen smiled with relief. "I'm glad we've finally talked about everything."
Together they walked to the Hilux; two friends reunited again.
