AN: That might be seen as a crackfick although something like that actually happened recently to a friend of mine. She gave me permission to use it in a story so I guess she's over the embarrassment by now. :)

"Pregnant?" Cutter mumbled stunned. "How?"

"The usual way I would assume."

"Do I know him?"

"Of course you know him. It's you," Jenny replied angrily.

"Me? But that's not possible!"

"You deny that you brought me home last night and... and... ? You know what happened."

"We were both drunk."

"Not too drunk to perform apparently," Jenny muttered, swaying slightly from side to side.

"All right. Assuming we had sex last night but what makes you think I got you pregnant?"

"I'd forgotten to take the pill the last two days," Jenny declared with a sniff. "Yesterday was one of my most fertile days and we didn’t use protection."

A smile formed on Cutter's face. "What exactly can you recall of last night?" he asked gently.

"I remember giggling about the colour of your underwear."

Cutter snorted. "I always wear white underwear. You must have been stinking drunk to find that funny."

Jenny shrugged her shoulders. "I had only a few tequilas, some whisky, two caipiranhas and something called a Screaming Orgasm."

"Meaning you were completely sloshed."

"Nonsense. I have a high tolerance for alcohol," Jenny slurred.

"I can see that. You are still drunk."

"I had to give myself Dutch courage to talk to you. Just two little scotchs."

"You sound almost like an alcoholic."

"I'm not an alcoholic. I'm pregnant."

"So you say. Well, then you shouldn't drink at all. It's bad for the baby."

"Don't tell me what I can do and what I can’t do. I'm in charge of my body. If I want a drink I'll have a flipping drink. If I want a fuck then I'm going to have a fuck. When I want to get pregnant then I get pregnant. Get that?"

"So you want to get pregnant?"

"Of course not, you moron. Why would I want that? I'm not even married."

"So you want to get married first and then get pregnant?"

Jenny' eyes flashed like lightening as she raised her right arm and pointed her forefinger at Cutter's chest.

"You are talking bullshit. What has being married got to do with anything? It's all your fault. You got me pregnant. What are you going to do about it?"

"Marry you?" Cutter asked with a grin. Intoxicated, Jenny was a hoot.

"That's not funny. You’re still married. So that would be bigamy. Besides, why should I want to marry you?"

"Oh, maybe because you love me. At least that's what you told me yesterday outside the ARC."

"I was an idiot. Loving you is a recipe for heartbreak. You didn't even react to my confession."

Jenny's words wiped the grin from Cutter's face. With hurt in his voice he said, "Of course I reacted. I stayed with you instead of going back into the building for Helen. Do you know how hard that was for me?"

"You only said you needed a drink."

"No, I invited you for a drink for God's sake," Cutter huffed, annoyed. "Has the alcohol totally messed up your mind? Just for the record, we never fucked. So it's really beyond me what gave you the idea I might have knocked you up. To my knowledge you can't get pregnant from oral sex. So if you really have a bun in the oven it was certainly not me."

Two hour after Cutter had stormed away, Jenny knocked at the door of his temporary office that the Home Office had provided whilst the ARC was rebuilt.

"I came to apologise. I overreacted."

Cutter quirked his eyebrow at her and Jenny knew he wouldn't let her off the hook without a proper explanation.

"Well, there was this stick in my bathroom. A pregnancy test. Both lines were pink. I could vaguely remember that I was on the loo this morning so I thought I had made the test then and I panicked. You know the rest."

"It wasn't your test?"

"No, it wasn't. The test belonged to my sister. She's using my spare room while she's in town for a meeting. She and her husband are trying for another baby. I'd forgotten the hormone level doesn't rise so fast that it would show on a pregnancy test within a few hours. You must take me for a complete dunce."

Cutter chuckled. "I'm glad it was all a misunderstanding. Just remind me not to get you drunk again. I would like you to remember if we start trying for a baby."

Jenny blushed furiously, and made an hasty retreat with as much dignity as she could muster in the wake of Cutter's playful laughter.
