i have finally got rid of my polar bear feet after 6 long weeks! i think the dr pulled out half my skin when she was ripping off the sticky dressing, so my skin is very senstive to touch. there were 3 incisions made on each foot, and a titanium pin holds the big toe bones in place. they are a bit unsightly at the moment with all the scabs, scars ( Read more... )

hi there.
it's been a while since i have been on LJ. wow...six weeks is a long time. It must be such a relief to get the casts off. I am glad that you had the surgery if it means that you will be able to walk without pain. Don't worry the scars will disappear in no time. Just think of all the cute shoes you can wear in a couple of months!!! :)

thankyou!! the six weeks was well worth it. my feet are slowly getting back to normal now but i live in thongs (ie. flip-flops) these days until the swelling dies down.
