smoke from the raging bushfires swept across our skies this weekend as i stayed indoors, to escape the scorching heat. today the temperature had soared up to 42.1 degrees celcius, apparently the hottest december day for 53 years. initially i had intended to start my xmas shopping but i couldn't bring myself to go outside until the sun came down. so ( Read more... ) -
full moon and lots of slobber
a colleague brought over his german shephard last night to play with bella, and they had a ball chasing each other in the park till they both collapsed from exhaustion. they seemed to enjoy each others company. it was her 2nd birthday and they were in party hats. people may think i'm loonie, but next year i'm thinking of throwing her a doggie party ( Read more... ) -
surprise surprise
the girls gave me a big surprise on friday night. instead of going out to eat in carlton, they all rocked up at my door with balloons and take away food. it was very sweet and unexpected and i was pretty much speechless for the whole night. and dining at home meant we could be extra loud and silly. we chatted into the night, watched wimbledon the ( Read more... ) -
good, another year
i have been in hibernation the last few months, but with summer not far away i think i should be more energetic and more enthusiastic about exercise and eating less of the junk that i eat and getting more fit. i still have my doubts about joining some kind of fitness club though ( Read more... ) -
a much needed outdoor-sy day
our garden renovation finally completed on friday, so k and i thought we'd drive 45 minutes to chris and marie's plant farm (after hearing all those catchy "hello hello dot com dot au" ads on the radio) in campbellfield with the hope to pick up some plants at good prices. however i must say i was kind of disappointed as most of the species i wanted ( Read more... )
