Maltese Falcon, in San Francisco (modern square rigged ship)

Oct 16, 2008 23:14

I saw just the tops of the sails when she came into the Bay a couple weeks ago, then she was docked over in Sausalito...you could see the masts distinctly from SF. Yesterday she motored over to dock at Pier 35 (west side).

The view from my streetcar, heading back towards the Ferry Building.

Background on the Maltese Falcon.

And today, spied from nearby...

The Gas Light, a 72 foot gaff rigged scow schooner. She is is a replica of an historic 1890's style San Francisco hay scow.
