I got my lifeguard certification at the age of 16. I kept it for the next 12 years, and I worked as a guard in some form or fashion most of that time. I had some fantastic tans. I tanned through sunblock when I was younger, as a result of playing outside and being out on Lake Erie. (This was before I figured out in my teens that it was the SUN I was allergic to...)

I've remained as pasty as possible for the past 20 years, but I still had to have an "atypical" excision back in January.

I feel your pain, literally...I paid my first bit of flesh for an atypical result last year...now I'm a lot better with the sunscreen in the summer...but still need to work on covering my birthmark year round...hope it's nothing too involved for you this time!
