The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) just, a few minutes ago, with NO riots and NO hubbub -- decently, and in order -- voted to delete the famous G-6.0106b from our book of order, thus removing an impediment to ordination for those who do not live "singly in chastity, or in fidelity in marriage between a man and a woman" and

Well, she already knows I'm living in community...and we are like room neighbors. It's like...we get to play siblings in a big happy seminary love family. Which may not be too thrilling for someone who has 6 siblings, but let me tell you...THE ONLY CHILD IS EXCITED!

Hey Val! that's awesome -- isn't that what blogs are for?? I'm glad to share the news, and let's keep praying for the church in the days ahead, as i think there may be some nasty fall-out concerning the more conservative churches that may threaten to leave the denomination.

And the fallout probably won't hit until after the Presbyteries vote. Remember that the same thing happened twice already and was voted down by the Presbyteries. So keep praying!
