I think it's sad that most people now a days don't give a flying fuck about this anymore. They say they do, but everyone knows that actions speak louder than words.
Of course, most Americans are totally disconnected from the War On Terror, we're so wrapped up in ourselves, our iPods and all this other superficial crap like 'American Idol' and '24' and etc etc. We do our own thing. I think the meager 15% turn out in the Florida Primary Election on September 5th speaks the truth that most people dont give a shit. 15% is such a lousy turn out, we had a 60+% turn out in the 2004 General election.
It is important to remember and be active, participatory citizens in our country, however, I do believe it is wrong to merge everyone/majority under "they". Who is "they"? Instead of worrying about they's on September 11 maybe we, the active citizens should spend our time being supportive of those who lost relatives on that day or in the war on terror. Or how about supporting and volunteering on the military bases near your home towns? Family support groups could use your help. As a New Yorker that was in NY on Sept. 11 I find the "they" comments useless and pointless. As a military wife, I think it is a shame that you couldn't put pictures up and let people reflect on the day without people posting comments that put people on the defense and I am surprised you even took the effort to respond to a pointless comment that did no good.
Dont be so defensive, I'm refering to a large part of the country that doesn't seem to care and doesn't vote. It's obvious they don't really care if they don't show any kind of support or even turn out to vote. I apologize as you seem to have taken offense by my comment.

Tables Turning on Dems?
Because they're in control now, right? Because that's when "the tables turn" on someone, is when they're in control and then lose it.
