When I read this, it absolutely pissed me off, but it reassured me that the Republicans don't have it so bad when that's the best the Democrats can come up with.
Just for that remark, I hope the SOB attempts another run at the Presidency, so the RNC can run ads with those "stupid" American troops.
Suddenly im more energized than before. This is the death blow, it's 'political suicide'. In gop_vs_dem some fool tried to defend Kerry's comments and state that it's true that people in Iraq are there because they couldnt navigate the education system. Once again it still implies our troops are stupid. This is far worse than Foley and Iraq.
Another claim is starting to circulate that Kerry misspoke, that what he intended to attack the intelligence of Bush and that when you don't focus on your education, you make stupid decisions like sending our country to war in Iraq. Sounds like a whole lot of bullshit Monday morning quarterbacking.
I say let him keep going. John Kerry's foot into mouth syndrome only helps us
"I voted for the 87 billion before I voted against it"
"Those weren't my medals I threw over the fence, they were someone elses"
"Education, if you make the most of it, you study hard and do your homework and you make an effort to be smart you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.” Thanks Kerry! If you're going to f-up so badly at speeches, PLLLLEASE come back to MA and "help" Deval Patricck ;)
lol and then after he refused to apologize, he started name calling republicans... like, "right-wing nutjobs"... a senator should not be going on the record saying things like that! hahahaha kerry is such a god damn moron. i actually tried to see it from another point of view, like his words could have been taken out of context or something... but i read the quote, and if he was trying to attack bush, then perhaps he should have mentioned bush's name. he attacked bush at other parts in the speech, so it's not like he was trying to be discreet. i call bullshit excuses!
Anyone who has Kerry's lapse of judgement and choice of words, whether he meant to insult the troops or not, should not be representing our country. Just imagine if he was President and he botched a joke that insulted a foreign dignitary. Now he's trying to push it off on Bush but on the video from his speech where he made the infamous comment, some people in the room actually laughed.
Kerry has a record of disdain for our troops. He voted to send them to war in 2003 and now he says it was a mistake. He voted against sending $87 billion to help the troops back in 2004. In 2005, he said they were baby-killers, etc. Back in the 1970's, he gave tesitmony in committee hearings saying that they were baby-killers which probably made conditions worst for POWs in Vietnam. Kerry even refuses to apologize for possibly offending people. The least he could do is apologize so then the story goes away, but he won't even do that.
I saw that. I have a hard time believing it though. Some of their recent polls show that Democrats in districts with disgraced Republicans Tom DeLay and Mark Foley are barely winning or its statistically tied. Republicans may lose DeLay's seat, not because people want the Democrat but because some people may not know they have to put in Shelley Sekulla-Gibbs' whole name down rather than just "Gibbs". The Democrats also want to confuse Republican voters in Foley's district by keeping Foley's name on the ballot and not allowing there to be a note saying "A vote for FOley is a vote for Negron".
If George Allen loses, he would kinda deserve it with his "macaca" comment. Regardless of if it was meant to be racist or not, it seems kinda assholish bullying some kid who is just a campaign worker.
You're just as much a fruit as Kerry is, and a coward at that since you have to post anonymously. Kerry is flat out wrong on his comment. You know agreeing with Kerry that our troops are stupid makes you guys look 'really special'. 49.7% of our troops have technical and professional certification, 39.4% of our troops have Masters Degrees. So I think the only stupid people here are you, John Kerry, and the rest of his cronies that say 'It's time for a change'. Yeh, a 'change' from bad to worse.
It is a bit of a stereotype, I agree but it has long been written by many people (including during the vietnam war) that people in the army aren't the smartest.

"Get jailed, jump bail, join the army if you fail."
The army knows this too, otherwise they wouldn't put a rack of pamphlets in front of the Bursar's office at my university.
