It has Rained on My Parade

Yes ive been a bit of a hyperpartisan nutjob lately (my apologies) but now I'm truly pissed at my party. Let the Republican bloodletting begin. I can definitely see a GOP leadership shake up. They're seriously paying for the scandals, the Iraq mess, and out of control spending. I think they not only pissed off the regular folks, but they totally ( Read more... )

If the Democrats win, its not because how good they are, but because how bad the republicans are. The democrat party could have been called the "Not-Republican" party.

Chin up. Now let's see this amazing new wonderful plan that they've been bitching they wanted but never could tell us what it is. Way I see it, it's two years to fuck up before we elect the next president.

That is my hope also. But the thing is, it will take time for the Dems to push through their stupid ideas, and even more time for the negative impacts to become clear to Mr. Average Joe Citizen.

This is why tallymatt is right that these tectonic shifts only happen after a span of many years.

And I think most of the Democrats know this. So, in spite of the fact that they were largely ushered in because folks thought they'd force us to "cut and run" in Iraq, they will not do it. There will be some slow, drawn-out withdrawal plan, absolutely guaranteed to last past November, 2008. Sure, they'll piss off a portion of their lunatic fringe base, but they won't really lose those votes in a Presidention election year.

:(

And federally funded embryonic stem cell research passed in Missouri.

I know things happen for a reason, but my heart hurts for what this country is becoming and what might become. Now what chance does Bush have of putting some good judges in the supreme court? Its back to activism, fetal sacrement, and taxes. I hope I feel better about this tomorrow.
Im all with you, Republicans in power had something awesome going for them and the idiots totally screwed it up for America.

Well my neighbor said there is a spirit of delusion and deception that has fallen on our land and these people who call themselves Christians and im refering to nominal Christians have fallen for it. It's many of these nominal Christians who just gave power to the Democrats, apparently they aren't keenly aware of how liberal the Democratic Party leadership is and we saw this in the last days of the campaign of their attempts to hide it by putting Pelosi and John Kerry in the closet. It worked unfortunately, it worked, and this country deserve the government it elects. I dont think things will get any better, they will get worse. America will be opened up to terrorism like never seen before and the Democratic leadership does not care, they have no allegiance to this country, and many of the illegal immigrants that are here have no allegiance to it either, oh how America the great has fallen.

I'm thinking we're well on our way to a gridlocked and more useless government than we have now

Yep. NOTHING is going to get done in the next 2 years. What a waste of time, energy and money.

Great, very few stupid laws, tax increases, and dopey regulatation will be passed.

Sorry, the GOP fukked up the last couple of years when they contolled Congress and the White House. Moral of the story - Govern like Republicans, and stop trying to be Democrats.

apparently the voters and so many christians (people who call themselves christians but really aren't) are so deluded to think returning the Democrats to power will do anything good for this country. They wont. We will likely be come underseige by terrorists and foreign powers and the Democrats will do nothing to stop it, they will usher it in.

I can't understand why any Christian would vote for someone that supports homosexual marriage, abortion, and embryonic stem cell research, all of which God clearly is against.

Ready for libertarians? I am. I've been harping on it for a while, I think in a couple of years I might be looking to move to costa rica.

Dude it isnt gonna happen, libertarians are what gave us the Democratic Majority in the House and Senate, they were spoilers in tight races. Otherwise people like Conrad Burns and George Allen or Jim Talent would have been re-elected.

Well, I think that if Repubs had stayed with what they had gotten themselves into office with, there wouldn't be a bigger push for the libertarians and other independants. This is where it comes down to voting for the lesser of two evils (and these two evils have become quite similar), and that is a disgusting way to have to vote.

You're right about them not being for what got them elected in the first place. I'm not saying libertarians and independents are bad, it's just that Nancy Pelosi is now our House Speaker and Harry Reid is now our Senate Majority Leader. I wouldnt have a problem with them if they weren't fringe lefties. If they were Moderate or Conservative Democrats I wouldn't be afraid, but to me they're both the anti-Christ. Republicans were bad and they lost because they deserved to lose. I think the liberals read into this that somehow it's an overwhelming endorsement of let's purge God from all mention in the public and enforce our radical agenda on the public, they want it! But they were swept into power 'USING' candidates that ran with the Conservative and Moderate 'facade' and yes I believe all it was , was a facade. The American people have been duped and the liberally biased media helped. I've never seen such great deception be so successful.
