Yes, but did he win? Because I think he would be terrible at being a I don't think demons are supposed to be quite so focused inwardly.

This was beautiful and wonderful, and I have nothing to add except that I loved it so.

Also, most of the people I love would have walked into that library trap and said, "Fine, turn me into a demon; but can I keep the books?"

I really liked the fairy tale feeling to this, and trying to outscheme a demon is always a perennial favorite for me. :)
