I got a camera today!!! It's not a fancy SLR, but it suits my needs for now since I'm not really a "serious" photographer.

For sure! :) There's a loooong, detailed review here with photo comparisons between this and the older model (SD700) as well as a Panasonic camera.

Essentially, it points out that this camera doesn't do well on the higher ISO settings, and the noise reduction blurs the pictures (although it's only obvious if looking at pictures very closely). The rest seems peachy. :)

The impressive part is the "IS" or image stabilization...it works wonders. Many of my shots end up blurry due to my unstable hands, but no more! :)

And that is indeed a good feature to have. My hands aren't stock-still (nobody's is, it's impossible for humans), but they're alright. Yet still, there are times when I press the shutter, and that's what causes the camera to move. :P

I'm just amused that you're taking pictures of your new camera, rather than taking pictures with your new camera :P

Still. It's damn purdy.

Oooo that's right, I forgot you had that one too! I totally wanted a smaller camera, the IS is awesome on my dad's S3 IS but that thing was so huge...

So far I think the camera is perfect for me.
