So I seem to have an excess of a certain produce around the house. I got tired of eating them the way I was making them, so I had to find a way to make use of a lot of them quick ( Read more... )

I finally tried it a little later. I wonder if it'll taste sweeter the next day. I've heard that chocolate cakes usually taste better the second day anyhow. It was really moist.

I have yet to go through the biggest test and see if anyone's able to detect the beets. Yes teh same plant to make borscht D: I should also note I also substituted the majority of the butter with bananas (only adding butter when i had to melt the chocolate chips as it was the only thing I had on hand that was chocolate)

how was it? other than really moist, haha. but yeah, it might be sweeter the next day.

I-I'm not gonna ask how you came up with the idea of using beets XD also, bananas instead of butter? never tried that. didn't it affect the taste?

I liked it. So it's day 2 of it and it's still really moist and not super sweet (just the right amt... so I didn't cut too much out)

The idea was only because of a recipe I found on allrecipes.com (I find way too many of them there). Applesauce is the typical replacement for butter rather than bananas. I know vegans may use them to replace eggs (flax also works). I wonder if it didn't affect the taste b/c of the chocolate (which masks just about anything) or b/c I didn't completely remove the butter.
